Considering what has been learned about Baylor athletics, specifically its preferential treatment of football players at the expense of female athletes/students, I don't understand how athletes and their parents are willing to turn a blind eye.

I still have great expectations for the 2015 class. I have even greater expectations for 2016. The way I see the rosters, Texas is in good shape through the 2017-2018 season. Anyone other than perhaps an elite true center who comes in 2017 probably is going to have to be really something special to earn many minutes as a freshman. So, I tend to look at 2017 and 2018 together. For 2017, the coaches can look for exceptional talents and special skills. If they miss, 2018 becomes more critical. For example, in 2017, an incoming guard would have to compete for minutes with Brooke, Tasia, Ariel, Lashann, and Alecia. If players such as Jada and Joyner take minutes at the 3, a position played by guards on the current team, well, the guard minutes just may not be there. But when Brooke, Tasia, and Ariel all leave at the end of the 2017/2018 season, and Lashann is a senior, suddenly there is a big need for guards. There appear to be a number of elite guards in 2017. If one or two are willing to come, and possibly wait until 2018 to make an impact, that is great for Texas. Otherwise, the pressure is on for guards in 2018. It also appears the team will be seriously in need of a couple of bigs by 2018. The wing/forward position appears set a bit longer.

Keeping my fingers crossed for 2017 F Jade Willliams and 2018 C Sedona Prince. I think Williams may be a long shot. But who knows?

I'm not bothered by Richards. At least not all the good players can go to Baylor or UConn. I don't know much, but from what I've read and seen on Youtube, I would be most excited about Patterson, Prince, Gray, and now Ursin. And lots of others sound fantastic.

Yes, but injuries have played such a huge role the last few years. If one of your main scorers is out with injury, and you don't have other players to pick up the scoring slack, it has a huge effect. We have several bench players who can't be counted on to score; that is where the quality depth has to improve.

I've seen all these kids play before and honestly Richards is probably the most complete player with Morris being a close second. Richards and Megan walker are the most complete players in that class.

Someone posted a video highlight of Richards earlier if you haven't seen it I will try and find it. Huge loss for us though and I just asked a couple of people about what happened and I've been told the Baylor staff convinced her she would compete for the starter position opposite of Chou her freshman year. Two 6'2" guards will be tough for anyone

I don't have any insight to Chassidy, but I just have a feeling she might be a Horn.

Patterson dad isn't happy with the staff at Texas. I've been told that by her uncle and also Patterson's head coach is pushing her to Texas A&M because that's where she went. That's the reason Courtney Williams went to A&M. She's been up to college station for almost every home game this year

I have no doubt that Didi will beat out Chou at SF; neither will play SG in college, but for different reasons; plus, Calveion Landrum is probably gonna be Baylor's SG of the future. Chou was shut out in the second half against Duncanville. This past summer, she was awful shooting the ball in her limited play with USA bball. Will be curious to see if Chou has the lateral quickness to play defense against the Big 12's small forwards. I have a feeling she will be like OU's Peyton Little; if you leave her wide open, she'll probably make some shots. If you keep a hand in her face, she probably won't be able to create her own shot consistently.

Patterson can really shoot the ball. I just wish she was a little taller because this team obviously already has two small point guards. I remember Patterson being one of the first players to attend the Texas basketball camp when Aston became the coach.

So let's all hope Cathy Self-Morgan is similarly nudging Zarielle Green to attend the coach's alma mater.

There's not any question that Didi is a very well rounded player both defensively and offensively. But I'm still not sold on her being able to consistently shoot the ball from the perimeter. This team needs consistent jump shooters. That's why I would have taken Lexi Gordon, Haley Troup, or even Vivian Gray. No disrespect, but I don't think Didi is even in the same league as Megan Walker especially offensively. Didi is more of a slasher IMO. And Megan Walker can create off the dribble much better than Didi.

rattfatt, I haven't heard anything about Troup nor Gray committing elsewhere. Have they? Or are we still possibly in the running for them?

I don't know any more than you do. But when it comes to Troup, Texas Tech is also recruiting her hard. I think we're still in the running for both players.

Stats do not lie and Lexi Gordon shot 28% while Didi shot 39% this year. I don't know what she did to improve this way but Kwai Lenard did the same thing from last year to this. Like I said before though Richards create shots and is a huge miss for us. Her mid range is unbelievable to be honest.

Megan walker is nice but I have seen Didi and chennedy carter get the best of her multiple times. Morris would be the next one I would want. I think you may have missed it on Richards though. That's just my opinion and if you read what mark Williams wrote on blue star about her he says the same thing about her jump shot. Will find the post for you. Just think it was a bad loss for us

I recall that back when she and her Dad visited unofficially. Don't think we'd ever seen anything in writing indicating we had actually offered, though.

Kwai Leonard has improved his jump shoot but I think he's the exception. Most players who are good jump shooters usually are good at an early age. And players who are aren't good shooters usually only improve but so much.

Chennedy Carter is the player I really like. I'm a fan of big guards that can create off the dribble. What's the word on Carter? Also, even though she's on the small side do you know anything about Kiana Williams the PG from San Antonio.

Yes, I think the fact that Jones and Prince both complete their eligibility next year had to have been a recruiting advantage for Baylor. When you look at Baylor's projected roster for 2017, you see they needs guards. Texas returns a lot of players in 2017 who will or could play guard or wing.

Think Williams is a Stanford lean.....think carter is leaning towards tech and A&M.

On another note I think Richards creates her shot well. I just went back and watched that video to see if she was shooting jump shots and creating them. She is and does........also the thing about Didi is if you read about her it talks about her not starting to play basketball until the 7th grade. Which means her development may be a little behind

Thanks for the info. And you may be right about Richards, we just have two different opinions. I wish her well and hope she becomes a great jump shooter but just not when she plays against Texas.

They want to be on a top team! Longhorn fans had better look back at their reputation....even as far back as the 60's when it comes to sports and equality. Texas is a top school with a great athletic program and the Big12 would be nothing without UT and OU.

Kind of a bummer. Everyone seems to "leaning" somewhere else.
