So gender pretenders having to use the bathroom that corresponds with their genetics as opposed to the bathroom of the gender they are committed to pretending to be = redneck ascendancy. Got it.

I know of no young person who can't accept Caitlyn Jenner as a woman and Chaz Bono as a man. I rather have Chaz in my bathroom than my wife's and would prefer not to pee next to Caitlyn. You may see them as "pretenders." I think the more left leaning among us are willing to recognize them for the gender they have chosen for themselves ... at great personal cost.

Gender pretenders??? :rolleyes1: I think that individual has gone well beyond pretending.

I guarantee that person will continue to use a stall in the mens bathroom because it will be so awkward for everyone for them to use the womens bathroom. Now North Carolina can charge them with a crime though.

It's one thing to disagree on an issue, it's another to be a complete ******* about it. You think life is easy for someone who is transgender?

No, in fact I think they should seek help.

Well I am 26 and I know of plenty enlightened UT grads I went to school with that also feel the same way.

Holy Crap!. I guess nobody ever thought of that. Complex problem, meet simple solution.

The photo in the OP (if it really is a male-to-female trans) helps explain my daughter's comments that I discussed on a previous thread:

So you think that Americans en masse are going to be outraged by this and throw out conservatives over it? You don't read polls any better than RINOs do.

I think the number of people who were miscast by nature into the wrong gender is very, very low. And for those few people, perhaps there should be relief.

People like Bruce Jenner, who lived his life very successfully as a man, fathering children and even winning the MEN'S Olympic decathlon, cannot change their gender. No matter how much they mutilate their bodies and change their appearance, they'll always be a man. They're phonier than the Seattle white woman who was President of the NAACP and was trying to pass herself off as black. They're just Cosplayers.

Good point. This is the type of post in which people on opposite sides of an issue can find common ground. Doing assinine things like opening with "gender pretender" just serves to polarize.

Not en masse. It's not going to be a tidal wave ... more like a six year tide change. I know some younger voters highly motivated by this and other actions. You'll notice subtle changes. There will be, for instance, a visible Democratic Party in Southern Denton County. It will start with just a few dozen highly motivated folks, but they will find ways to influence the center. There will be self identified Democrats running for office and candidates for countywide office.

Women like this will provide ammunition.

To me she seems nuts. To the Dan Patrick loving, Texas Tea Party Republicans who are projected to back her in a runoff, she's just a brave woman who speaks her mind. I think mainstream Texas voters will find her embarrassing in a way to which the the Tea Partiers may never understand. The hard social conservatives are today the majority of the Majority Republican Party. They will drive out the old country club Republicans now called RINOs and may find themselves the majority of a minority in a decade or so. In other states it will happen quicker.

I don't want a "gender pretender" in the same bathroom with my 5 year old grand daughter. Seems to me the only requirement to be a "gender Pretender" deviant
is to say that they are one. Pretty simple common sense, keep men out of the restroom women are using. There are way too many wives and daughters for the sick puppies to win this one.

I'm trying to understand this, what you are saying is that your daughter (and probably other young ladies like her) is more scared of the beard than the penis (trying to simplify)? I think this makes sense however unfortunately I think in the boys locker room that same young man with a beard and a vagina is out of place and worry about their safety.

I truly think that we are at a point that we are about to have gender neutral bathrooms and locker rooms so that no one feels awkward or scared.

As for how this plays out politically I think it is so clear cut across party lines. I think there are a lot of Republicans and Conservatives that couldn't care less and there are a lot of Democrats and liberals in the same boat, and neither of those groups care enough to speak against their own parties.

About sums it up for me. I really feel bad for what my grandkids may face with this, and the deficit we are leaving them.

Wow Musburger, I never imagined a Ted Cruz sex scandal. Though men with the egotistical people-pleasing personality type from which many of our great leaders originate tend to be more prone than average for that sort of transgression. Since the source is the National Enquirer, I intend to treat it like rumors I heard about Rick Perry -- basically just stories of questionable validity that I personally would not repeat out of concern I might be "bearing false witness."

As with Perry, Cruz gives me plenty of on the record reasons to be in the political opposition.

What I find ironic is that one of the chicks is Katrina Pierson, who works for Trump.

Meh, is there enough proof that Ben Bradlee would publish this crap? We'll see if the "main stream" media is willing to run with it. Since it's about a Repub, you know they'd love it.

This has been the nastiest campaign in a while and we're not to the main event yet.

Katrina also worked on Senator Cruz's senate campaign. She is from Garland and was part IIRC of the Garland Tea Party.
I do not know why she went to work for Trump but I think she has nothing to gain from denying a Cruz affair if she had one.

Pierson may have political ambitions of her own.

There is an ancient and long lasting double standard on adultry. Men who score a lot are admired as cocksmen; women in the same circumstance shamed as sluts. (This has actually change some since Gary Hart's presidential campaign fiasco.)

Pierson does great on camera. So far she's been the most effective and visible candidate spokesperson of the 2016 race. No doubt she would prefer to have a political career trajectory like James Carville in preference to being the next Donna Rice or Monica Lewinsky.

I think she has Ted Cruz's favor to gain by denying it, especially if Cruz survives this. Right now there's plausible deniability. If the women in question back up Cruz's denial, this "scandal" probably doesn't end Cruz's career. It may be big enough of a distraction to derail his presidential candidacy, but he will likely hold his Senate seat. Furthermore, he'll owe Pierson a favor, whether the affair happened or not. US Senators can payback big favors - funnel government business her way, get her an easy but very high-paying job, etc.

If this Cruz story has any legs I'd be shocked if it didn't get traction in the mainstream media. Afterall, why wouldn't Trump talk it up? He's shown no resistance to grab onto any mud he can sling at other candidates.

Anonymous is reported to have sent Cruz a tweet telling him if he does not drop out they have proof and will expose him.

Back to the original topic, the NC legislature convened a special session just to push through this anti-LGBT legislation. Like Indiana, it will most assuredly be changed as Big Business is already lambasting the state. NC based companies like Bank of America are going public against the State but the NBA has hinted that it will pull the 2018 All Star game slated to be played in Charlotte.

Things aren't much better for the Democrats. The choices for Independents are getting worse every day. The R base will rue the day it didn't support Kasich.
