Anyone know why Erica Wright hasn't been pitching during Fall ball exhibition? I heard two longtime fans, muttering to themselves indicating something negative or punitive, but that was just a guess. She's at the games, in t-shirt and shorts and in the dugout or riding a stationary bike in the batting barn.
Does anyone have an update on Erica? At outset of season I believe there was mention of a bruised rib, but that should have long healed. That's a 4-5 week recovery. Obviously the team was hoping for a deep run this year, and with depth of pitching staff including Erica that was a likely outcome. But I doubt it's going to happen without her. Does anyone know if she's expected back soon.
During Fall ball her mother and (maybe sister) sat near us. They were muttering in low voices about surgery (shoulder?) and needing to keep things hush-hush. I've seen her at the games, and it's pretty obvious she's not coming back this year. She just cheers for the team and keeps the warming up pitchers company in the bullpen. We're more than halfway through the season, so I think it's a redshirt year. Think of how Tiarra hurt herself last year and tried to pitch a few games (with bad results). She wasted a year.
Well if it's season ending surgery why put out a story that it's a bruised rib? Oh well, thanks for the info - it sounds likely that she's out for the season.
