These eight programs, ESPN says, are the sport’s “blue bloods."

    They are:

    • Alabama – 10
    • Notre Dame – 10
    • Ohio State – 10
    • Oklahoma – 10
    • USC – 10
    • Michigan – 9.92
    • Texas – 9.83
    • Nebraska – 9.5
There were four other programs that received scores of 9.0 or higher.

    They are:

    • LSU – 9.33
    • Penn State – 9.17
    • Florida – 9
    • Georgia – 9
You can see ESPN’s full list here.

This is a poll of 12 ESPN writers ranking all FBS programs on a scale of 1-10.

    I can live with that.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

    Agree.

I suspect if the Horns had beaten Bama in 2009 for the NC and or not wandered in the desert the last 6 years, UT may have been ranked higher than #7.

    What, no mention of aggy?

Surprised you failed to mention that Cow College on the Brazos... frankly I thought they were ranked higher than they really deserved... but I accept I have highly tinted burnt orange glasses....

Yeah, I think their brand is overrated at 20, but they're just another underachieving secsec school, so they don't matter.

Remember 2006 Rose Bowl, after the humorous back and forth intro with MM and Will Farrell, the next scene was the overhead live shot of the Rose Bowl from the blimp with Keith Jackson starting it off: "The royalty of college football is out in full force tonight" (or something like that, I DO remember him using the phrase 'royalty of college football).

Not too many national championship games get that kind of introduction.

    Hook 'em
