Not sure how many were attributed to ISIS and While it might appear to uneducated eyes that radical terrorists are ramping up the terror and killing we just need to listen to the all knowing BO who told us just last week that "ISIL" is weakened so they could not be behind any of these attacks either directly or indirectly.

A related stat might be the average age and gender of Europe refugees. The overwhelming majority are young men under 34,according to a pew research report.

The last week of July was particularly bad. Based on that, B.O. is wrong, but the trend will tell the tale.

Some of the lowlights from July's murderous rampage by these Islamist cowards:

-A little girl is among three members of a family burned alive for trying to flee the caliphate.
-A 22-year-old woman is shot to death for 'having relations' with a man over the phone.
-A Catholic nurse is set on fire by suspected Religion of Peace operatives
-A female pastor is hacked to death by Muslim radicals who left her severed head on a Bible.
    - A teen is honor-killed by her conservative Muslim mother for having an affair with a Hindu boy.
-Four popular soccer players are forced to kneel and then shot in the head by caliphate members in front of children.
-Nine Christian villagers are murdered by ADF Islamists
-Women and children are among forty civilians captured and 'mercilessly' executed by the Islamic State.
-Six people are beheaded by a Sharia court.
-Five civilians are beheaded in front of their families by the Islamic State.
-The death toll from two weeks of rolling Fulani attacks on peaceful farming communities rises to over 80.
-Five civilians are burned alive in cages by Islamic State members.
-Dozens of Kurdish civilians, including women and children, are brutally stabbed to death by Islamic State members.
-A mother in France and her three young daughters are stabbed by a Muslim man during breakfast for not being sufficiently clothed.
-A 15-year-old girl is strangled by her conservative uncle for having a boyfriend.

I guess the fear our GOP strategists feel reading this is quite different than the fear I feel because otherwise it would be all over the airwaves.

This is because ISIL's strength is determined by its philosophical reach, not by its military reach. Trying to defeat ISIL with military action is doomed to failure so long as the internet continues to exist.

The elderly woman who was killed spent her last minutes warning others that the terrorist was "still here" and "he's over there".
A very courageous act that hasn't been reported much.

I think it might be bit overbroad to say military action is doomed to fail. Military action alone can't do it, but eventually the caliphate has to be stopped, and I'm not sure how you do that without military action by somebody.

Fair point. I guess the point I'm making us that there is no inconsistency in saying "we are winning the war against ISIS" and "ISIS is expanding its global reach". I think both statements are true.

Gotta be honest, I'm having a hard time squaring that. If their global reach is expanding, then in what sense are we winning?

To defeat ISIS completely you would have to discredit the Wahhabi ideology that fuels it. This is probably impossible. The next effective way to fight ISIS would be to deny their funding and weapons. ISIS obtains weapons by:

    1. Purchasing them from oil sales, ransoms, organ sales, etc.
    2. Procuring them after capturing territory as when the Iraqi army abandoned positions.
    3. Direct supply lines from countries such as Saudi Arabia that buys weapons from the US.

Our foolishness in training and arming the Iraqi army as well as the destruction of Libya provided ISIS with much of their arsenal (see #2 above).

Turkey's purchases of oil illegally sold from captured territory in Syria and Iraq contributed to ISIS ability to purchase armaments. The US was complicit in that we did nothing to stop this until the Russians exposed it and intervened. (see #1 above).

Our continued multi-billion dollar arms sales to Gulf allies and training/arming of jihadi groups to fight Assad have found their way into ISIS hands also (see #3 above).

I'd have a hard time sending a relative to fight ISIS until the government policies are reversed so that the above three factors aren't assisted by the US. It doesn't make sense to risk lives fighting an enemy when at the same time you are implementing policy that strengthens that same enemy.

Unless the ultimate aim of your foreign policy is to enrich the arms manufacturers and other war profiteers (who then funnel money back to, just for a wild-assed example, your former Secretary of State's Presidential campaign coffers).

He was just a peaceful Muslim kid until he wasn't. He would have got through the vetting system a year or two ago.

He of course has that right. One NFL player tweeted that what Kaep did was the fastest way to make sure he didn't start opening day.

Actually I think both parties are pretty equally responsible for US contributions to making thing worse for ourselves by our involvement in the Middle East, but this was still pretty funny/accurate.
