I know that UT rents the orange vinyl covered stadium seats for the season and that the orange cloth covered seats can be rented for a single game for like $5.

What is the rule for bringing in your own stadium seats?

I've been bringing mine the last 2-3 seasons. I'm not sure if there is any specific rules but they are allowed. I've seen several people bring their own in too.

I think UT should not allow "outside" stadium seats because, in my experience, most of them take up more than 1 space. The guy next to me brings his and it takes up half of my spot. We've been sitting together for 20+ years so I just ignore it, but it is somewhat rude, I think, to just expect everyone to be OK with it.

Hi Phil: Looked up stadium seats at Academy. Most were 16" but the deluxe was 20 and was the biggest I could find. If you have a measuring device that would be easy to carry it would be interesting to know the size of the space provided. I have some seats I have used for years and they are 16". Grandkids are in the band and I go to high school games and they always have fit in the various stadiums I have been to.

I say rent the $5 canvas seat at the stadium, get there early and overlap a couple of inches his way. He may get the point or not.
