oops. posted a blank page. Anyway, I heard the reporter has now retweeted and it's still UT, UConn and ND in the final running. UConn fans at the Boneyard are INTENTLY following the saga of Megan Walker's visit to UT. They don't have any better idea than we do of what she will eventually decide. Her last official visit will be to ND in late September, which inclines some observers to fear her schedule is set up for a climactic commitment to the Irish. Or maybe not. Suddenly some also worry about the"momentum" of Karen Aston's "join an up-and-comer recruiting strategy." Nobody knows. It's great just to be in the hunt. ND and UConn have to be considered the favorites based on past history...It will definitely send an electric ripple of shock through the women's basketball world if Megan Walker becomes a Longhorn.

Has Megan already visited UConn? It would be great if Texas and ND are her final two visits.

Also reported by the Daily Texan. Looks like her visit here is big news.:hookem3:

Typically, UConn's big recruiting weekend is in October when practice begins. But this season, their current verbals for 2017 will be visiting officially next weekend, and Walker will join them. She has visited UConn unofficially a couple of times, I believe.

For us and Walker, I'm still surprised she made the drive from Houston to Austin last month to visit unofficially. And, I'm just as surprised that she didn't join her Boo Williams teammates in Austin last weekend for the Notre Dame game; perhaps there was a good reason. I forget if Monday or Tuesday was her first day of the new school year; may have been Tuesday.

Regardless, glad she is coming in tomorrow. The electricity and excitement won't be close to what it was this past Sunday, but she will hopefully be able to attend some classes and visit with professors.

Just looking at the rosters of her 3 finalists, I would say we offer more minutes at the SF position (based on depth) for her as a freshman But, when you are the #1 recruit at the country, you probably have the talent and confidence to believe you will win the starting job your first season. Still, UConn would have former #1 player for 2015, Junior SF Katie Lou Samuelson as the incumbent. Notre Dame has some highly-ranked talent at SF, as well, I believe. For us, senior Ariel Atkins can definitely play both SG and SF equally well, but I think the roster lists her as a guard.

Great news that Megan Walker will be on campus this weekend! I have heard there will be 2 recruits making "official" visits this weekend and attending the UTEP game!! Anyone know who the second recruit might be?

    It's probably Chasity Patterson.

2017 recruiting information has been hard to come by, at least based on who we are still targeting.

Have seen no information about Rellah Boothe; nothing about her visiting any schools officially this summer or anything scheduled for the Fall. Perhaps she will take her visits in the Spring.

Read on the OU board that Vivian Gray will be visiting Norman officially later in the Fall.

I honestly don't know who else we are pursuing. Perhaps Chennedy Carter is still on the radar; haven't read anything about her official visits.

I recognize some of our current players in the photo. Can you help put a name with the other faces? Thanks!

I can identify Megan and Chasity, but don't know who is with them. Maybe it's Chasity's younger sister (if she has one).

Pretty sweet to see all the talk about WBB so early in the fall.
AAS has a story on Megan Walker and Chastity Patterson visiting this weekend.

And another mention of Megan visiting as part of the FB story.

Couldn't they have gotten Brooke in there to give Chasity some backup?

Hmmm...I guess Chasity signed a financial aid agreement (nonbinding on athlete) on her official visit because she retweeted this:

Can't sign an LOI until November 9.

well, that sounds like she got the answers to the questions she needed. Lots to like about Austin and the University. And she is not going to get a taco at ND or UConn that compares to what they are like here. :hookem2:

    Mooooo, DFW or others that might know;

Has Karen had her in home visit with Megan? Looks like Geno used his in-home visit with her a couple of days ago. It would be great if Karen could get in front of her and her family again after she visits ND and UConn.

She talked in the article about having a good home visit. So I think we went first.

I think the references to her visit in the article were about her official visit to Texas. I got the impression her UT home visit has not happened yet.

    This was in the article...

Richmond Times-Dispatch: What was it about Texas that made you want to take an official visit?

Megan Walker: I had a good home visit with the coaching staff along with several phone conversations. After getting to know them, it made me want to take an official visit to learn more about the university and the basketball program
