I believe she is referring to her home visit from last year. She posted a photo on Instagram with the coaches back then.
Maybe so. My bad, then. I was just going by the article, it doesn't really say when the visit was. Sorry.
You were right about the quotes, though. Very complimentary of Texas, Coaches, Team and Austin,,,,sounds like she had a great time.
It used to be that the head coach was allowed only one or two in-home visits with a recruit. Thought I read recently that the rule is no longer in effect, and the head coach can make unlimited in-home visits. Geno visiting Megan about 24 hours after she returned from Texas is a good move; I'm sure he wanted to make sure she was going to follow through with her scheduled visit to UConn this coming weekend.
HoopGurlz.com updated rankings; Chasity at #4: http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/rankings/_/class/2017
Doesn't look like ESPN reshuffled 2017 - especially compared to 2018. They also released their first Watch List for 2020, no surprise Deja made it.
Thought this was an unusual/interesting tweet. Perhaps just a fan and some wishful thinking. Or, perhaps someone who knows our targets. Got the photos right. But, used Chasity's Dad's twitter account instead of hers; and, Chennedy Carter doesn't have a twitter account that I've ever seen. And, misspelled CoachA's twitter account. Still, good effort.
Speaking of Vivian Gray. She visited Okie State officially last weekend; and, I believe she is officially visiting OU this weekend.
@LadyWolfBBall is the Mansfield Timberview Girls Basketball twitter account. Which clears up who Kennedy Carter is (guessing that is Chennedy Carter). Hoping Texas gets one of her five official visits.
For those of you who follow recruiting closely, is it odd that we haven't heard much about official visits or in home visits in regards to Chennedy Carter or Rellah Boothe? They are both highly ranked recruits. Mooooo mentioned Chennedy may not have a Twitter acct but don't other recruiting services sometimes announce when recruits take visits? Both Chennedy's and Boothe's recruiting activity seems very quite to me but then again, I haven't been tuned into WBB recruiting.
It all depends on the recruit. One with a low social media profile like Chennedy is going to be much harder to get information on. When it comes to home visits, that also applies to recruiting services because they usually find out from the recruit either by talking to them or, more commonly, from tweets/DMs. As we've seen, coaches can now retweet or 'like' home visit announcements from recruits but they still cannot generate the content until the recruit signs.
There was a recent tweet from someone that Chennedy visited A&M officially over Labor Day weekend. As for Rellah, no updates about visits. Could be that she is going to take her visits in the Spring and not sign with anyone until then.
Waiting to hear about Megan is nerve wracking enough. I can only imagine the stress of having to make a choice. I wonder what the story is behind Morris not picking Baylor, actually committing elsewhere, then changing her mind. Sounds like some torment (and ambivalence) in that decision.
Here's a link to the Hartford Courant's article on Megan's visit (pre visit). The article says that she's made two unofficial visits to UConn prior to last weekend's visit. The optimist in me, likes to think if she were a "shoe-in" to UConn, she would have committed to them by now. Glad she is taking her visits and doing her due diligence. http://www.courant.com/sports/uconn...-basketball-recruit-09-15-20160915-story.html
I honestly can't get a feel for what Megan will end up deciding. Guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks.
Richmond Times article on Megan's visit to UConn. It's the same paper that previously wrote an article on her visit to Texas. http://www.richmond.com/sports/high...cle_25a8abda-efd0-577d-9e29-bd71d33648ad.html
A fan contacting a recruit via social media? Bad form and possibly a recruiting violation. Worse for Texas WBB to retweet the tweet. I hope this is an error that is corrected soon.
I'm not a fan of it, but it happens all the time as far as fans reaching out to recruits via twitter; no violations. Coaches are not allowed to directly tweet at recruits; but, just recently they were allowed to start re-tweeting what recruits tweet.
Rellah's recruitment seems like it will go into the Spring. Obviously, once she begins scheduling / taking official visits, then we'll know who is really under consideration. Hope we are there for her in the end.
It is only a violation if any of the fans are "boosters". If they dont fit that bill, then they are 100% in compliance.
