Not saying we should be in top 25 now, but how does Baylor, with a new coach, and losing a lot of players get in there?
More than likely Baylor will either be much better or much worse than projected. I don't think Houston deserves to be that high. Yes, they will end up with the record with the schedule they have, but I'm not convinced they're a top 15 team based on talent.
Bailor will be riding high thinking they weathered the rape storm as they enter shotgun alley on Oct. 29...Texas, TCU, OU. With wins over Northwestern St., SMU, Rice, Iowa St., and Kansas...their only test before Oct. 29 comes in a home game vs. Okie St. Can't wait for them to strut into DKR at 5-1 or 6-0 thinking it's business as usual. Texas should enter pissed off and hungry at 4-3 or 5-2. Gonna be a fun day/night in Austin when we clock those clowns.
TCU is going to have a stought defense but that offense goes back to being **** for brains, it was all Boykin throwing jump balls up to Dotson for two years......
I think UH is about right, that OU game will tell alot. Funny thing about their schedule they play 8 games against schools that are in the Big XII, were considered at one point or have been talked about for expansion in the next few weeks, just thought that was interesting.
Baylor mainly lost freshmen recruits coming in. They still have the same basic team they had last year. And the same OC. If they can get past the psychological effect of losing their HC, then they could have a good season. They will suck the next and for the foreseeable future.
For the most part you are right. But there are some important pieces missing from last year. The most important may be the Bear Mojo. This team will have a cloud over it. Are they tough enough to overcome? I'll bet not.
Maybe yes and maybe no. The legal wheels are still turning in Waco. By the 7th game of the season the entire returning staff could be under indictment.
Baylor lost an elite level head football coach and brought in a guy with 5 straight losing seasons to end his career at Wake. This sport isn't autopilot friendly, Folks. It took every ounce of Briles to get them 10-11 wins, including fostering absurd criminal behavior. Even if Briles was the only cog missing from the entire 2015 machine, it's still a massive loss filled by a lackluster replacement. Would UH win 10 games if Herman stepped aside in June and Grobe took over? Would we expect a winning season if Grobe relieved Strong a few months back? The resounding answer is NO because the head coach is monumentally important to the motivation, desire, and identity of a team. Seasons are long, hard, and emotional and head coaches are tasked with holding it together and forging on around the landmines. Grobe isn't equipped for that. Baylor will start off 6-1 with all cream puff opponents besides OSU. Then we'll all enjoy their losing 3 straight @Texas, TCU, and @OU. Even if they finish 8-4 due to holdover talent and pansy OOC schedule, it's still 2 to 3 fewer wins than the last 3 seasons. And the fall has only begun.
