Ranked 103 out of how many D-1 teams? Kelly also announced that everyone on his staff is on week to week review. How many of those ranked 104-120 are left on our schedule? Cut's a damn good offensive mind, but just can't get get time talent in Durham.

Not surprising. Everyone with a stupid goatee like that has sucked as a FB coach.

    BA,

Thanks for the great laugh. Brian Kelly being "up front" is better than any line Mel Brooks ever wrote.

    Firing a Coordinator mid-season - what a concept! ;)

I'm not a Brain Kelly fan at all but I can't blame him for not calling out his DC. If Kelly knew that he was going to make the decision to relieve him of his duties as I suspect, there's no point in publicly humiliating the individual.

Just sayin Sabre and duke, he went out of his way by throwing players under the bus at the post game presser and backing his coaches ... Then fires a coach.
Not the way I would have done it.
Just say DC sucked and players sucked and they will fix it lol jk bout the last thing lol

Far be it for Brian Kelly to ever accept any responsibility or take the blame. I am reasonably sure that the priests told him what to do and how to do it, although he may have taken some liberties with those instructions. I agree about firing him during the press conference, which would not have surprised me at all considering it was Brian Kelly. I guess he thought people would say he was copying Lou Holtz if he did it during the game; either that, or he believed he was going to pull it out with his offense. Face it, no way Notre Dame loses to Duke.

Sabre, I guess Kelley and the Wells Fargo CEO are a lot alike.

    65,

I don't know if the CEO of Wells Fargo ever purposely sent a subordinate into harms way and he was killed, but other than that, they seem to be of the same slime pool if not gene pool.

I was not aware of the submarine part. I was referring to they both failed to bear any responsible but blamed their subordinates.

Shouldn't Kelly have also fired his OC for not breaking 50 on us even with two OT's?

    Hopefully we'll follow the example!

Also, I like to think that we had something to do with Notre Dame's season going into the crapper. Had they beat us instead, they may have capitalized on the win and gone on to have a good season. But we beat them, and took a bit of their confidence away when we did that. Sometimes the balance of a football team's season comes down to a couple of close games that create momentum or deflate the team's confidence.
(lets hope that Cal beating our *** does not torpedo the rest of our season.)

If the Michigan State game was close for 4 quarters I could see DS' point. However MSU kick their collective a**'s for 3 quarters.

Would anyone be upset if I took the liberty of sending in the resume of a currently employed Defensive Coordinator from a power 5 school located in the southern part of the country?

    MB,

Snail mail or email, will get the same result - trash bin. If you truly like the candidate, save it for the new coach.

    Saber,
I think you were reading that too literally.
Methinks he is seeking HF support for sending the resume of a currently employed P5 DC who resides in the state capital.
