It probably would have been better for his career if he had just endorsed at the Convention.
But now his "stand on principle" is going to become the punchline for jokes on the national level.

Maybe. I thought he was different. I was wrong.

I defended his lack of on air personality. His lacking "Paul Harvey" voice because I believe in the principles he had demonstrated ... constitutional conservative.

I guess everyone has their price and Don met Cruz'.

    We are toast.

I think I'll vote for #HisSilentinBengHazi just to hasten the inevitable revolution

Maybe my yet born grandkids will have a chance.

Doing anything in this election other than voting for Trump is effectively supporting Hillary in the White House. Once she is allowed to appoint her own SCOTUS Justices, she will not only be creating more problems than the ones you are thinking of now, but you will be allowing her to fundamentally change the USA.

Keep in mind she has been planning for this for a very long time. This is a very calculating woman. She has hard plans for everything. Many of those plans are decades old. She will hit the ground running.

Some examples of what letting her have the SCOTUS will do--
    (a) Alter/reverse Heller. We know these plans are already out there because of the leaks.
    (b) She will specifically target Drudge/Rush, altering rules of both the FEC and FCC to get there. You might kneejerk by saying "1st A free speech/free press clause" - but a Hillary SCOTUS will change that. It will all be one large orchestrated movement.
    (c) We heard her this week lifting the veil on her ideas for "national standards" on police behavior. This is code for national police force. The US Const does not allow for that, as it is currently interpreted. Look around the world, ask 'who has national police forces?'
    (d) This last one should shake any conservative to his/her soul. Hillary and her legal people want to change the reading of the 14th Amendment to include a "minimum livable wage." This is already making it law review articles and law classroom discussions. If the federal debt bothers you now, think of what this change to the 14A would do to it.

There's plenty more, of course. Once she gains full control of the SCOTUS, she will be able to effectively bypass Congress on many things. This was a dream for FDR, he tried but failed. But with Scalia gone and his seat open, it could become reality for HRC. Together, they would become a type of Super Majority minimizing Congressional power and effectively rendering the Separation of Powers Clause meaningless. We have already seen Obama stab SOP repeatedly, but Hillary can take it to another level. How? By owning a majority on the SCOTUS.

We cannot let this happen. Voters like you could be the difference. The make-up of the SCOTUS, in my opinion, is the single biggest issue in this election. The effects of letting HRC have it may not be seen for a full decade, but by then it will be too late to do anything about it (ex, how many of FDR's programs were ever rolled back?). Now is the time to do that. It's now or never.

So hold your nose if you have to. But the choice now is binary. Either Hillary or Trump is going to be the next President. Doing anything other than voting for Trump is effectively working to elect Hillary Clinton and give her the Supreme Court.

Conservatives say doing anything other than vote for Trump is voting for Hillary. Liberals say doing anything other than vote for Hillary is a vote for Trump. So if you vote for a third party person, you vote for Hillary and Trump? What if a liberal in a swing state is put off by hillary's corruption and votes for Jill Stein (for some reason)? Is that a vote for Hillary?

Cruz refusing to endorse Trump and standing on principles was what we needed more of in government. However, Cruz showed he was without integrity or principles like the rest of them by endorsing Trump. His price may have been higher than most, but he still had a price. Yesterday was a sad day because it means conservatives will not oppose Donald in congress when Trump starts implementing liberal, corrupt or stupid policies that will fundamentally change this country and prevent it from being great in the future.

Blah blah blah, yeah Trump's a moron, really a Liberal, and not intelligent enough or equipped to run the country...same old nonsense.

What went on the last 8 years...even 4 years in the oval office? My dogs d**k could do a better job than anti-American Obama and now HRC's extension and multiplication of his cluster**** socialist, cuckholding to the world agenda.

Go Trump! Even if he doesn't make America great again, at least he'll return it to resembling America and not Merkel's Germany.

    Joe,

I appreciate the plea, but there's simply no way I'm voting for the guy.

I can get into detail about a changed person and what that requires ... and the lacking evidence therein in this particular example ... but suffice to say I believe Trump was a trojan horse from the start ... but he was SOOO good at marketing, he actually won the GOP nomination.

before early voting starts, I STILL predict something will happen to Trump and influence him to withdraw ... esp if it appears he might actually win.

Watch his rate of tweet/et al which he masterfully used during the primary. It's already throttling-back when there are REAMS of ways to attack her. It's NOT too soon. he likes repetition anyway ...

So ... hang-on fellow orange bloods, the ride is about to get mighty bumpy.

Keep in mind that he has also hired a new campaign manager who advocates a far more traditional mode of campaigning. (Incidentally his poll numbers started improving as soon as she got hired.) She probably told him that he's not Johnny Manziel and that adults don't use Twitter to run for President.

THIS! The "basket of deplorables" comment flipped the script, but so many missed the stabilization finally embraced with the new campaign manager's influence.

Before her, Trump listened but mostly defied advice believing his overbearing ways were the reason he'd defied all odds. She was the one who got him to soften tone and adapt.

The last few weeks he's been a whole other person in several appearances I've seen. Not an ideal candidate or modest by any means, but certainly one who's newly sensible approach is making HRC look like the irrational, obnoxious, unhinged option.

You *think* that Trump might do that, even tho that would be against some of the things he has stated he will do/address, but you *know* HRC will do that and more, because she has already said she would. Pick one.

Yep, same here. Was getting stuff in mail even though I had registered for Trump online. Seemed liked 2 different databases.
