My cracked rib hurt really bad and kept thinking it would feel better in the morning but felt exactly the same for over 8 weeks.

True, Shane took too many shots in that game.

Merrick yes; Heard no - he is on of the most consistent receivers.

I think with these conference games coming up we will see more from Heard from the QB position, from jet sweeps, passing off of the jet sweep; and the little flip from Swoopes to the tight end from the 18 wheeler.

We will get even more "multiple' with our sets, imho.

Shane took some big hits in the Cal game and was the tackler on the Int he threw.

I think people are too confident in Merrick. He was our 4th qb last spring before Heard got hurt.

While I get that Swoopes can't throw, Gilbert doesn't know when to use the 18 wheeler package, Vance can't coach defense, and Charlie doesn't do anything but blow smoke, throwing Merrick in its not as sound as people are making it out to be.

Agreed, but what are the options for a proficient passing QB - not Swoops or Heard. Merrick is the next guy in line.

Imo, you go with swoopes and adjust the offense.
Foreman, Warren. Warren, Foreman. Foreman, Foreman. Swoopes. Warren, Foreman.
If we do that, maybe we don't score as much, but we dominate time of possession, which helps the defense.

Shane cleared by doctors to play. He will NOT wear any special protective gear for the rib (per Orangebloods).

    Good news for a change.

I'm not sure if that's good or not. It certainly means the cowgirls will be doing their best to take him out of the game and given the results of last year's game they'll probably be able to get away with a few cheap shots.

I cracked 2 ribs, and it hurt to breath, much less move.

We have no facts to think Merrick is an accurate passer. Maybe he is, but I'm not going to say he's the next guy up just because Swoopes stinks.

Who is then? Not Heard. Locksley has really never been in the picture, So who is next on the list?

It's too bad we didn't get to see Merrick in the Spring Game.

I don't know. But anointing Merrick doesn't make sense until we see something, hell anything. Right now Swoopes is the next on the list good or bad. Next year it's probably Ellinger.

Waster, you are knocking a very important football tradition.
The best player on the team is ALWAYS the back up quarterback
