that he made this little speech to his team before Sunday's game about any potential Anthem protests.

Jerry Jones went into the locker room before the Cowboys Giants game yesterday. He looked around at all the young men and addressed them as a group. “Regardless of your personal opinions, this is a sacred day that we recognize the sacrifice and pain that so many have endured. When the National Anthem is played by a lone trumpet player in a few minutes you WILL stand and you WILL put your hand over your hearts.” Jerry waited a second and made eye contact with several players to make sure his words had sunk in. He knew he had there undivided attention and proceeded. “You gentlemen are world class athletes, but you are also actors. You perform on a stage that is 100 yards long. Today, you play the role of a patriotic super hero. You will play this role well because you know that millions of children will be watching and looking at your example.” Then his inner fire started to shine through as he said quietly “but most of all I want you to remember, you are the actors, but this is MY stage and you will play the role I tell you to.”

Awesome of Ole Jer to cement the point, but no Dallas player would've dared. Not in the town that saw several of their police officers executed in cold blood.

They flew out the Dallas Police Chief to training camp in CA. Players also created and petitioned the NFL to wear arm-in-arm helmet decal to show unison with police.

There wasn't a single second leading up to Sunday that I wondered if any Cowboy would pull that nonsense on 9/11. I'm sure no Texans did it either.

Texas fans don't play that...said player would be damaging his own brand and placed on his fan base's sh*t list forever.

Even if a star player like Dez would've done it, he'd have taken a massive, permanent hit from fans. "Trade Dez" would've been burning up the Monday boards.

So this would be the Jerry Jones who has no problem bringing on to the team players who are sexual abusers, drug addicts and alcoholics who get drunk and kill their friends in car wrecks??? THAT Jerry Jones?

Few people are Hitler or Gandhi. I don't have a much respect for Jerry. As a lifelong Cowboys fan I accept him.

This was the right thing. He did it well. I was glad.
