Fire Strong. Hire Mack to finish season. He keeps Sterlin and calls his old buddy Robinson. We win out.

I don't see any reason whatsoever for Sterlin to stick around this mess.

    None.

Firing Charlie now and promoting Sterlin the interim HC would be a lot better than the current situation.

Snyder was out of K-State from 2005 to 2009. Can't do the math so.. is that four years or five years?

Didn't a Nebraska coach leave and come back? Petrino left Louisville under different circumstances; was let-go, now-come-back.

Mack needed to go at 8-4.....that isn't acceptable here. Much less this comic **** from Strong.

What is Mack going to do.... come in and CEO these kids up? This program needs a football coach.

This will probably ruffle a few feathers, but hear me out first...

Regarding sheer coaching skills, Mack was just average. The reason he was so successful at Texas is largely due to his excellent administrative skills, and the fact that his organization was stacked with unbelievable talent. He had the luxury of DCs the likes of Chizik and Muschamp and the powerhouses they built; and while Greg Davis as OC was only so-so IMO, that mattered little because of guys like Ricky, Major, Mike Williams, Roy, Cedric, Vince, Colt, Shipley......etc.

So no...I do not miss Mack as a coach.

I don't see any reason to keep any of them including Sterlin....NO and I mean no adjustments in second half the last TWO GAMES on offense !!!!! Our defense is a SH*** storm ......D*** it hurts to say it but.....I TOLD YOU FOLKS ...Bedford is not a D 1 DC, and never has been. Charlie screwed up getting rid of Greg Robinson !!!!!!! Charlie is clueless, and should be fired tonight !!!!!!

Instead of the discussion in Tulsa being about how long did Strong have, the discussion could have been SG getting the job if Strong gets thrown out.

He had "the luxury" of those coaches and players because he brought them to UT which is what good coaches do.

You know that our starting QB is a true freshman, right. And his backup is Swoopes who Mack recruited. Those two guys would not see the field at tcu, ou, ttu, Baylor, osu, wvu. Add Cal and ND to that list.

I love Shane, but get real about this. QB is the most important position on the field. But until he has the experience and enough savvy to open the playbook, read defenses, etc., this team is gonna struggle.

The debt of gratitude that we're going to owe Charlie Strong if this doesn't end well for him.... is that he un-f'd the culture of this program that Mack Brown left in his wake and Charlie Strong set the table nicely for the next guy. I'm sure someone with more patience and interest will be along shortly to explain that to you... and why the guy who broke it isn't the one to fix it.

It was just a hypothetical. But you sure do have some ill will towards a guy who got us into two national title games. Say what you want about Mack's tenure but he had some pretty successful years in Austin and we were not even a blip on the radar when he came in. I sat through four years of Mackovic in college and the lean years before him. I would take Mack back in a minute. I said we would regret him the way we treated him and I still believe that today. I guarantee you he could take these same players and win 6 or 7 of the remaining games if not more.

If you can take that Freshman and score 20-30 points in the first half, you should be able to adjust and score a few TDs in the 2nd half if you are good.

Mack and Greg Robinson nearly won the conference his last year with Case McCoy at QB...He would do much better than Charlie with this talent.

    Reds,

I shall always say that Mack Brown did what I thought was impossible by uniting so many factions at Texas. I don't believe anyone else could have ever accomplished that. BUT, you have no problem with the way he ****** us on the way out? That is totally unforgivable.

Please tell me what he did on the way out. He almost won the conference with Case at QB. The team had so many injuries it was craxy. I think he did one of his best coaching jobs ever that season. No one seems to remember how many QBs we lost out on because it looked like our Gatorade All American Gilbert was a can't miss. Well he was. Stuff happens and even really good coaches have a bad stretch and turn it around. I'm not saying for sure he would have but I think he could have done so. Anyway this was all in good fun because the point is he was a helluva lot better than Charlie ever will be.

I shall concede that MB was/is head and shoulders above Strong, but that puts him in a majority of coaches, not elite territory. I give him his due in uniting the factions, recruiting, and turning Vince loose to win a NC. I also give him his due in kissing Phil Sims *** and costing us two other shots at national championships, bringing and then keeping Greg Davis on staff (I have known GD since he was in 7th grade in Groves), and the game he played at the end. The latter is unforgivable. I really thought the man had more honor and dignity than that.

    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

Clearly Mack is a better CEO than Charlie Weak is a football coach. Mack won a NC, got us in a NC game, should have had a 3rd NC game, and was a Chris Simms meltdown away from yet another appearance in a NC game. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Brown and his actions the last week. Of course, Powers is just as guilty for the way he tried to handle it.

I graduated from UT and UT law and need someone to explain to me how the f*** the "culture" was fixed when we have not won an out of state road game since 2014 and our defense is softer than ever.

There never was an f***ing culture problem. Culture is horse****. If culture meant a damn, we would not have lost our first game in stillwater since 1997 to an oklahoma state team that already lost to baylor and central michigan.

What the hell did culture do when we had 3 extra points blocked in a row?

What the hell did culture do when we gave up 47 to Notre Dame, 50 to Cal and 49 to Oklahoma State?

Our offense sucked last year and does not suck as bad this year. Did the culture change since 2014? HELL NO! We upgraded our offensive coordinator.

Mack's "bad culture" won 8+ games a year 15 of 16 years and a national title. What the f*** has Charlie's "good culture" done? Not tiddlywinks. People act like Mack Brown was running the program like Bary Switzer or Miami and it was not even close. Hell, Charlie only suspended Perkins 1 game for a DWI.

Mack's mistakes were hiring Diaz and missing on QB recruits. Charlie's mistakes were Shawn Watson, Vance Bedford and not getting a damn special teams coach. Culture does not have anything to do with anything.

Are we better off today than after 2013? At the QB position yes. Everything else? Well based on the results on the field the answer is no.

The season is not over, we'll see how it plays out, but I cannot say we are any better off now than after 2013. Greg Robinson at least started teaching tackling that caused Bedford to benefit from 4 players picked in the 2015 draft. The current players we have do not seem to have learned anything about playing defense.

But lets rally around this meaningless, unprovable AGGY MORAL VICTORY OF #CULTURECHANGE.

We can celebrate going from a winning culture that had 3 straight seasons of 8+ wins in the bad years to a loser culture of 6-7 with mostly Mack Brown players being the best season for this culture so far.
