I wouldn't have been surprised to be lower on that list.

Strong's defense is better than Cal's defense. And yet....

Hey, hey, hey. Stop this bickering with each other. No need to act like this is texags.com. Keep it civil, purposeful, and enlightening.

    OK?

115th....that is gawdawful!! But, the last few years under Strong, hasn't the D been lowly ranked?

    Joe,

Thanks. We are ahead of two other teams in Texas, two teams in Louisiana, one team we lost to, and the poster children to the quality of drugs in the Pacific northwest.

We will beat ISU, Kansas, and upset.....I said upset.... one or maybe two others from ( BU,TCU,WVU,KSU,Tech )....5-7 or 6-6 finish....oh if we get a bowl game with a good team 6-7.

Long term opinion: I see regression from 2014 to now, I see little improvement. Yes, the offense is better is that because of Strong? Buechele? or Gilbert? The defenses regression is squarely on Strong.

Short term opinion: I was a little drunk during the game but did anyone else noticed that OU's defense attacked us, while our defense seemed reactive and waited for OU to do something then they did something. OU knew what they were going to do on defense regardless of the play. Examples would be rushing the passer, OU was bringing it and just crushing Shane. We seemed to just realize it was a pass and then start rushing. I don't recall many blitzes at all.......again maybe I was a little drunk.

This is what is drives me crazy about Strong. We cannot have a good showing in all three phases of the game... but if that was all, it might be OK.

But we are always historically bad, in one or two phases of the game.

If the offensive unit turns in a decent performance, you can expect 4 blocked extra points, or 700 yards allowed.
If the defensive unit turns in a good performance, we may never cross the 50 yard line, rush for negative yardage, and throw 4 picks.

Every time Charlie Strong gets his shirt buttoned up, his pants fall down.

Right there battling mighty San Jose St for position 114. We may need to add another digit to the scoreboard for next year's game in Austin.

5-5 with 2 games left. Charlie's magic number IIRC was 8. Still possible results: 5-7, 6-6, 7-5. Now that 8 wins for the regular season are gone, he might be back with 7-5 and a bowl win to get to 8. We'll see.

At this point IMHO, 6-6 looks very likely with a bowel game bid. Another substandard / below mediocre season. The team could finish 6-7.

If the cigar-chompers decide to make a change, it will be after the last game of the season, so there will be no wait and see about winning a bowl game. As Joe said, we'll see.

Sorry but no chance at splash hire without full time athletic director. Texas is a mess.

Best team UT has beaten this year is BU and the only team with a winning record. I give KU a punchers chance.
