The BO admin says they do "rigorous"vetting.
    Look it up
    It is a joke
So if extreme means not letting in people we have no idea who they really are That would be an improvement
Or are you ok with the current process?
We can send them all to Seattle if you are

Do I think the vetting process is perfect? No, processes should consistently analyzed for effectiveness and efficiency. What has Trump proposed?

Attempting to hide radical intent through a refugee resettlement program is the least likely way someone would try to attack America. It takes too long and doesn't create inroads with the types that would join to support that activity. They would do exactly what the 9/11 bombers did, which is not likely any longer as the laws have changed since then.

Your assumption is that people radicalize after a generation (or "x" amount of time) just because they're Islamic. No one saw Boston, San Bernardino, etc. coming, and those examples prove my point that they weren't related to refugee resettlement programs. The San Bernardino shooters took advantage of existing non-immigration-related laws to stockpile whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. You said it yourself... they're growing at a large rate even without the refugees. WITHOUT the refugees.

And it's asinine to think that I add to "my" voting block by allowing Muslims to come here. Not only would that provide a couple thousand voters (eventually), I've voted GOP when the candidates weren't egomaniacal ******** who think that problems are solved by totally abandoning a refugee resettlement program that has admitted three-quarters of a million people since 9/11. The total number of those refugees involved in terror-killings since 9/11? None. The number who have been arrested for ties to it? Three. Two of them were caught leaving the country to go join ISIS in the Middle East.

SH pretty much addressed it, but everyone on this thread digging to compare refugee programs to plain old pre-9/11 travel visas is going to have a hard time linking the radical terror that HAS affected our country to what could potentially affect our country in the future with refugees. Your assumption in the Mohammed situation you mentioned is that Mohammed would be allowed entry to the U.S. That's not the most logical conclusion.

Actually that's not what I said. You put words in my mouth that I said all turn radical. I've said one is one too many. I think there will be good people that are refugees but it doesn't take many to spread bigger and bigger as they have children that grow more and more as generations go by. I'm not willing to put our children and all the generation to follow because of our dumb decisions now. It's actually asinine that you think the democrats don't do this to broaden their voter base. They've proven themselves over and over from hiring people to disrupt the opponents rallies, open boarders, and assure people to vote without an ID (which no lib can explain) Sorry I lumped you in that category. I guess everyone of your post are bashing the GOP and defending the Dems made me assume other wise.

I didn't say that you meant "all" Muslims become radical. You're implying that refugees can become radicalized. I gave evidence that showed only .00004 percent of refugees were arrested for links to terror... none of which actually succeeded at carrying out terror plots (and two out of those three people were leaving the country). There are 30x as many arrests for the same terror links for actual U.S. citizens.

As for children of refugees, it could just as easily apply to children of nonresident students or expired visa holders. I don't think keeping out refugees is the response that solves for terror in the next generation.

It doesn't broaden any voter base and anyone with a calculator knows this. Let's say we bring in 60K refugees, 40K of them over the age of 18. None can vote in federal elections until the naturalization process. After 7 years or so, including the family members who attained 18 years of age, we maybe get 20K voters based on participation rates. 20K voters spread out over maybe 40 states? Add another generation... 40K voters (generously) spread out over 45+ states? Is Trump going to complain that the 2040 election will be rigged by those voters? The 537-vote difference in Florida in 2000 suddenly became a 537-vote win because it was hijacked by the Dem political machine and HRC 24 years earlier?

I've already mentioned the open borders comment earlier. As for voter ID, I know it seems like common sense to people like you and me who can easily go get the driver's license, but the only motivation in passing these laws is to disenfranchise a segment of legally-eligible voters who don't have the ID. Even the GOP has started to distance itself from the voter fraud laws because of all the gaffes and snafus on the state levels that basically admit to trying to "win elections" because of these laws.

I'll readily admit I'm more liberal than you, but as far as the spectrum goes, I'm closer to the middle than the average Hillary/Bernie voter. Went for McCain in the primaries both times he ran, and GWB in the 2000 general. Cornyn in the 2002 midterms, although I'm kind of regretting that one now.

It's not my motivation. And I guess having to prove you are yourself to vote AND making it less of a pain in the arse to get an ID just never occurs to anyone in either major party...

Are we only talking the US with that statistic?

Well, if you're a GOP state legislator, thank you for not being motivated by winning if you're the one passing Voter ID laws. I agree that it shouldn't be such a "thing" to get a photo ID, but when old white guys in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Indiana all go on the record saying that it'll help their party win the next election, you know there's something messed up behind the rationale.

Yes, I was only referring to the U.S. with that statistic. Three arrests out of 785K since 9/11.

Depends on altitude...I know when I was in a single-engine, I generally had coverage up to the altitudes I was usually flying in (under 7000)...couldn't hear much, but I had the ability to make and receive calls.

If you ignore the warning of the flight crew on a commercial flight, you would find the same sort of thing...

The information gets easier to consume and believe if it isn't relayed with a divisive overtone. #ImpeachHussein? Racist? Anti-Muslim? 4Chan/Brietbart (whichever you got the image from) hands the reader the paintbrush to use.

The thing that gets me are Republicans being so enamored over the stupid talking point "You can't defeat radical Islamic Terrorism" without naming it. Interviews with ISIS prisoners show most join it, not out of religious fervor, but rather for guns, money, women, adventure, just like gangsters on Chicago's south side. Further, making this a war against Islam ... we are ignoring that the allies best equipped to help us are Muslim. Official US policy bashing Islam strengthens the ISIS sales pitch to those who can be radicalized. Show me testimony from anyone who knows anything about battling ISIS (Admittedly, I don't think anybody who seriously suggests carpet bombing an insurgency is any sort of an expert) and I will be surprised. Is there really an intellectual framework for this, or was it just Republicans noticing the Administration was reluctant to put out anti-Islamic verbiage and thought of a way to excite the gullible?

I should ignore the inherent bias? You consistently rail against media bias. Does bias only matter when it's the "other" side's bias?

I know, ho-hum, more DC corruption

But note the IG brought up this missing thumb drive again, which has come up several times before

A poll worker was caught and charged with fraud. Sounds like the justice system worked! Oh...because it happened once we should subject the entire State of Ohio to new voter ID laws? Maybe every state? R's should stop using the "party of small government" moniker.

Someone may have finally connected the dots on pay-to-play.
This is an $157M arms deal to Morrocco involving Huma, Podesta, Robby Mook (fyi - the campaign manager for Hillary 2016) and the Clinton Foundation (which got $12M)

The corruption is thick with these people

If you will take the time to educate yourself by reading the Wikileaks releases (instead of avoiding them) you will learn that they are no longer theories
