Apparently Vegas doesn't have much respect for Baylor's 6-0 start.

This is a really good sign. Maybe Vegas knows something we do not? Maybe our players get fired up and upset Baylor again? Now I have hope.

now at BU -3.5 on Bovada.

Had to do a double take on the land thieves line...giving 40 against KU. FORTY!

I would love to be a fly on the wall when Vegas is doing the math on these games.

Well, it's a home game so I guess there's that. My thought is this team is in complete confusion and disarray, we're done. Baylor will rape Charlie's defense, and they won't cover this one up.

We are 3-0 at home, but I would hope Vegas would look at who we have played.
2-5 Notre Dame (ended in a tie, won in overtime)
    2-5 UTEP
    1-6 Iowa State

UTEP defeated UTSA in 5 overtimes last week to improve to 2-5 which boosted our strength of schedule and apparently impressed Vegas?

I suspect the game prep conversation between Kendall Briles and Seth Russell will go something like this:

KB: Texas plays their DB’s 10 yards off the LOS so just toss screens every play for a 7-9 yard gain til we score a TD, rinse repeat.
SR: OK, coach sounds good, what should we do when they move the DB’s up a play some press coverage to stop the screen?
KB: Ha! They’re not going to do that, too stupid to make in game adjustments. Just keep doing all game and we’ll score 50+, they won’t even slow us down.
SR: But coach, I’d like to run a bit and so would Shockwood.
KB: No problem, occasionally drop back like you’re gonna pass and when the DE’s rush right past you just head north through the gap that’s waiting like the parting of the red sea, or hand it to Shockwood for the same result. Either way we’ll have an easy 25 yards like taking candy from a baby.
SR: But coach what do we do when they shift they’re linebackers in the plug the gaps?
KB: (Rolling on floor laughing) Are you kidding, didn’t we already talk about Texas making in game adjustments. That would require the Texas coaching staff to actually be able to think. More likely pigs fly over the stadium.

Over/Under should be interesting whenever it gets set...and to think that I had believed the 89 in the tortilla tosser's game was conservative...could this one get set over 100?

    Baylor will cover
Our DBs can't. DBU now stands for:
    Deep Ball U, Dropped Ball U, Don't Bother U, Dial Backup U, Disaster's Brewing U,
    Don't Bowl U, Disorganized Befuddled U....

    LFZ,

To make sure, we are playing Baylor University, not to be confused with Mary Hardin Baylor

Not completely crazy. Texas is a couple of plays in every loss from winning the game. We must admit that this is significant improvement from previous seasons with Strong where we should have one or two wood shed beatings by now. The only close game that went our way was ND. KSU really hurt after a horrible half, the team came back and had a great chance to win except for a couple of drops and a missed field goal. I am closing in on 50 and I always thought special teams play was way over rated. I must thank CS for my new found respect for special teams and for proving me wrong.

The O/U is 69. They must not think the Horns will score. The over for sure in this one.

I agrue on the overall this team is weaker than previous teams, but so is the schedule. The offense is much improved, which has prevented any blowouts, but the lack of great teams on our schedule is the biggest factor. The only two teams good enough to blow us out are WVU and Baylor and we get them at home. The best teams we have played are OU and Okie State. Okie State was a mere 2 points from a blowout win and OU has demonstrated against TCU and Tech that their defense is too bad to blow anyone with a good offense out (see Gilbert). Our offense has improved, but overall we appear to be a worse team than last year so far.

The truth is that Cal and Kansas State were just so-so teams at best that already have 3 losses each will have to fight to get to 7-5. We had no business losing to either of them if we had improved.

I can see us beating Baylor or any team left on the schedule. Vegas opened at -2 and the money has the line to -3.5. Texas is a hard bet when you look at the talent on the Texas team and the Texas offense potential. A bettor looking at any of Texas' games knows this is a tough line. Texas could win outright, keep the game close or get blown out. Tough bet, that's why it opened at -2.
I am hoping we put it together to win, we have the talent. I will now tell you my fishing advice that you always have to take two Baptists with you when you go fishing. If you only take one, he will drink all your beer. If you take two, they will watch each other and drink none of your beer.
