@Hoop is correct. Gilbert is one of the two reasons we have not had a 20 point blowout loss this season compared to the 8 blowouts suffered the last two seasons (the other reason being we have yet to play a single really good team, though that changes with Baylor and WVU. Other than Baylor and WVU we play the weakest schedule since at least the 90s.) I will post the stats later, but Gilbert, as a first year OC, has massively improved the offense from the past two seasons. I agree he could be better and there are fair criticisms, but he and the schedule have prevented any 20 point blowout losses to date. If we still had Watson, this season would be much uglier than it has been.
I would like to add the only points our specials teams and defense (excluding FGs/XPs) have scored is a 2 point safety on a blocked punt against California. Gilbert's offense has led to all but 2 points we have scored all year. That's just pathetic from defense and special teams.
