Forgot to do the midseason post last week (crazy as **** week, didn't have time) Surprised ST is doing that well.
It is because the special teams problems are so basic and so ridiculous, they are not captured by any sort of normal metric.
Special teams are still bad. If the players we recruited are supposed to be such great athletes, our special teams ought to be very good regardless of offense or defense. No excuse for poor special teams.
Our O is trending down for sure, The WRs are inconsistent too many drops that cost us. We're down to one healthy RB, who runs like a raging bull. Lose him and we're toast. The ST play has been awful. Inconsistent place kicker, KOs come down about the 5 yard line, run backs are poorly covered, the 3 blocked extra pts in a row are inexcusable! Punting is about the only good thing going. The D can't tackle, can't cover, doesn't communicate, DBs play too far back, too many 3rd down conversions and explosive plays are allowed, and the list goes on. So, does Charlie and this staff get a 4th year? That could result in Texas football disappearing from the landscape altogether.
