Schumer is walking proof that if you play along with leftist politics then you are allowed to operate according to a different of rules

My biggest problem with this batch of hardcore liberal comedians who have come to prominence in the last several years is that they're not very funny.

I was glad to see 200 people walked on Schumer in Florida when she attacked Trump. Of course, those 200 were dumb enough to pay to see her in the first place.

But , I'm sure the Left wing media loves her. She'll probably wind up hosting the Tonight Show someday.

It's almost impossible for a partisan liberal to really be funny nowadays. I'm not saying that liberal comedians can't be funny. I'm not saying that comedy that incorporates some liberal politics can't be funny. Plenty of comedians in the '60s were overtly liberal in their politics and in their comedy yet were funny.

However, so much of contemporary liberalism is rooted in grievance and extreme sensitivity and being sanctimonious about it that it can't be easy to do comedy. You can bash and make fun of white Christians, but eventually you run out of material. The jokes about rednecks and incest eventually get old.

Personally, I like to watch Seinfeld reruns from time to time. I was a huge fan of the show, but he could never do that stuff now. He lampooned and stereotyped Arabs, Indians, gays, the handicapped, Chinese people, Latinos, and obviously Jews, and I think the corporate world would pull their advertising today. Seinfeld was never ugly about it, but you don't have to be to enrage people now.

And of course, if Eddie Murphy tried doing some of his old material or if a guy like Sam Kinison came back and started doing one of his bits about gays, there'd be violence. And in some cities, they'd come up with some BS reason to charge them with a crime.

Depending on venue, they may not have paid...I know Choctaw Durant was hawking free passes for an upcoming Schumer show at that casino.

    I passed...

Watching early seasons of Married...With Children is much the same. There is a LOT of content that would never air today, just as there was a lot of the All in the Family content that would not even have aired in the late 80's or early 90's.

And can you imagine the Chevy Chase/Richard Pryor SNL skit airing today?

    Dead honkey!

Richard Pryor had more than one album with the n-word in the title.

What made me crack up was how serious and moved the older guy seemed. It was like he was talking about starving children in Ethiopia.

Could not agree more. SNL is a perfect example of this. It has become unwatchable because their primary objective is to advocate a political position. I tune in every now and then to see the intro because I do think Larry David does a killer Bernie Sanders impression but I usually change the channel within minutes.

So, you missed David S. Pumpkins?
It is so stupid, but I couldn't stop laughing.
    Aiy, Papi!

Maybe they'll use the money they're saving from dropping these dumb ads to improve their crappy beer that currently is a global embarrassment. It would be nice, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

And frankly it isn't that cheap anymore. You can find a good beer from one of the many excellent Texas craft breweries for a comparable price. I really liked 512, Austin Beerworks, and Real (Blanco). They're in the same price range as Budweiser, and they're as good as some of the best beers I've had in Europe.

I missed the entire Tom Hanks episode, but did catch the hysterical "Black Jeopardy" sketch later on the internet.

The David S. Pumpkins sketch appears to be a rip-off of the FBI Simulator sketch that they did last year with Larry David. Both are actually pretty funny. SNL can still be funny at times. I will give them that. But most of their sketches are pretty lame. I still cannot believe they fired one of their funniest and underutilized cast members - Jay Pharoah. I suspect that they didn't like that he did a spot on Obama impersonation. Now they have an excuse for the noticeable lack of Obama lampoons.

If UT wants my western wear, they can come and take it. The University of California at Austin is so out of touch with the rest of this state, it is sad.

Wow, that SNL Black Jeopardy skit was more racist than any of those taboo Halloween costumes.
