Also a good indication we wouldn't have any Briles type problems. I imagine a football player getting too fresh with coeds might find his *** in some serious trouble.
Fedora's HC career (So Miss / NC) has a pattern...rebuilds 3 years while finishing 4-5 games above .500 in total record, then 4th year hits 11+ wins. Since Strong just did the talent rebuilding legwork for 3 years, Fedora should be able to walk in and produce like his breakout 4th seasons of the past. I'm still in the Herman camp as I believe 100% he will excel immediately at a major program. However, Fedora does carry appeal for heavy consideration. Nice to know there are two options we could get behind if one went South.
Dave, I don't know who hired DKR, as I wasn't around then. Fred was hired by Governor Shivers and Frank Erwin. David was hired by DKR. Mackovic was hired by Little Willie Cunningham and no one else. Brown was hired by DKR. Strong was hired by Powers. Two hired by administrators have provided more BAD stats and records than all the rest combined. NEVER allow an educrat to have anything to do with athletics. So, if the athletic ignorance of Fenves takes precedence over the athletic knowledge of a committee of donors and former players, you can be assured of the results - A CLUSTER f**k OF MAJOR PROPORTIONS!
Joe, I'll take that, so we have another football coach hiring a legend rather than some moronic Berzerkley reject in change. As I recall, Coach Bible called the nation's most successful coach up in Norman to ask for a recommendation, and Coach Bud told him DKR. Trivia question: Dana X Bible holds one distinction among college coaches, which will never be repeated. ???
He is the only man to be head coach at LSU, A&M, & Texas. Most think he came from A&M directly to Texas, but he left A&M to be head coach at Nebraska, and then came to Austin from Lincoln.
I say give the BMDs the rope they are asking for. Patterson shut them out last time, they are not going to go for that this time AND foot the bill. Fenves should tell them that, as long as they are willing to write the checks that will cover all the buyouts and pay the next guy, then they can hire whoever they can agree on. It will mend fences and get the bills paid.
Phil, Good points and tomorrow's meeting will eb a real test of Perrin's power and leadership ability
