Has anyone had this done? I was looking at the tests available through ancestry.com and 23 and Me. Just curious as to which one people preferred, and if you were satisfied with your results.

I had my DNA tested through Ancestry. It tests family genetic patterns/nationalities only, and I think 23 and me tests for certain medical conditions too.
I was satisfied with the results because finding out my heritage helped confirm some of my family tree from several decades back.
It was interesting to see where my relatives came from! I had some surprises...my family always thought we were primarily German, and instead my largest pie chart was Nordic.
I think you would be satisfied with either, depending on what you are wanting to find out. For family tree, I would recommend Ancestry. For health, 23 and Me.

Well, I asked for a "23 and Me" kit for my birthday and the results came in. Here are my overall results:

And here are more in depth analyses of the top 3 percentages:

    European

    Native American

    Sub-Saharan African

When it says "broadly" some region that basically means "the rest of your DNA is from the above regions, but we can't pinpoint specifically where".

So were you happy with the accuracy of the results?

Well I don't know what the accuracy is so...? Meh.

    I mean I'm assuming it's fairly accurate.

As far as the results, I'm not surprised. I'm half white and half Mexican, so they seem accurate.
