I really liked hearing that he and Shane are gym rats and besties in the film room ... just imagine when these guys are juniors and seniors
Hey, did you know Shane Buechele and Collin Johnson are friends? Lord help us if they're ever roommates...
This is what makes me "mad" at this coaching staff. They should have been throwing the ball ball to johnson all season long in the endzone like this. Come on Gilbert you are not dumb. open up your imagination. Stop being so CONSERVATIVE.
Thanks for your observation! I am sincere about the fact they should have been doing this along time ago-a six foot six WR that has good hands and can run and jump. (Maybe the coaches didn't have enough trust in Beuchele yet) If we happen to score often enough this way then they may have to double-team which would open things up for others. Now if others have said the same thing then that is validation to my point. It is just irritating to me Gilbert's lack of creativity. Man i've got some plays i know that will work. And I just don't like CS's "lets just run over them" mentality. I prefer misdirection and surprise. I suppose there is a time for brute force and a time for misdirection and surprise. The latter they do too little of. Now i shouldnt be too critical, after all, it is free entertainment for me. On another note i would like to see foreman and heard in the backfield at the same time. Just think of the things you can do there. I hope we throw the ball to Oliver more often. He never drops the ball. I am starting to think he has the best hands ever in the history of tx football. I would like to see if that's true. I hope i have offered enough comments that i didn't say in my previous comments. Your friend-the troll.
I read something about Oliver, he was the most prolific receiver in Texas High School history or something like that. He does have great hands, very reliable. Reminds me a lot of David Thomas.
Dion is right, Oliver was a prolific Texas HS football WR gem. He kind of came in under the radar. Naturally he reminds me of Shipley (good routes - catches it), Cotton Spreyer (good hands) also David Thomas (gets open / catches it). Also reminds me of Cole Beasley of the Cowboys. IMO his stock is rising - he is getting better.
He also reminds me a lot of Ed McCaffrey, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Ryan Nunez, and Jason Sehorn....
