Charlie fired?

If it does turn out to be Herman I would imagine both coaches would still finish the season with their teams bowl game and all before they left

 

For the record, the Poodle Dog Lounge did close. I used to shoot some pool there back in the day. First and only time I was officially hustled too. Funny story. Once the guys we were playing realized we were out of money (on college budgets), the next shooter ran the table, chuckled, and said something like "see you boys later..." Heh.

It re-opened as "The Aristocrat Lounge". I'm guessing it's just a fancier dive bar, without the waitress with the metallic eye lashes and raspy voice.

 

I admit I am nervous. The last several years have been very bad at times. However, I can't believe that Fenves is really "deciding" anything. Last night was the end. I think CS knows he will be gone after TCU and there really is no reason for CS or the new coach to coach a bowl game when next year is more important (unless the coach is in the playoffs). If money is lined up and agree on coach and details I believe the agents will have things worked out before CS is announced gone (maybe before the TCU game).

They have not exactly inspired confidence in this regard the last 7-8 years, so all we $100 fans can really do is hope for the best

 

If they beat tcu on Friday players are said to be not willing to play in a bowl game if he is not going to be able to coach them through it

 

My guess is this will not be a factor for this team to have to get themselves worked up about.

University of Texas officials have decided to fire football coach Charlie Strong, however the official announcement may not come until Monday, a high-ranking university source told the American-Statesman.

“It will happen for sure. The question is when,” the source said.

 

Additionally, sources say Texas officials have declared burnt orange and white the official school colors and the Longhorn the school mascot.

Just like with the OC search last December, the President and AD are absolute buffoons and are making the program look like a freaking joke yet again. They simply cannot handle ANY situation properly.

This will be my last post. I love reading this forum as I have for years.

I really would love iit tho if someone would post the thread back up about the guy who described the perfect day as a longhorn fan on game day.....the one wherein he described waking up drinking a blood Mary, getting a 4 finger dip of skoal , playing a round ect...before watching "The University" kick ***. It maybe was 12 years ago.

I really hope tomorrow is just a formal announcement and not an actually weekly press conference. If they let him go up there and take those bullets we will not be able to land another decent coach for a while

 

If this is a done deal, there is no way he should be made to do the press conference. That is a ridiculous mishandling of the situation. $10M or not, that is not the way preserve the man's dignity and reflects very poorly on The University.

 

Maybe Herman will do the presser.
