Should be a very tough game. I think we lose. Bama is decent with some upper classmen mixed in with young talent. Avery is doing a decent job recruiting and Bama alums and admin are putting resources into the BB program there. I look for bama to be in the top 4 or 5 in the SEC. My take on us is getting shakier by the game. Don't see how we finish above KU, BU, TCU, KSU ISU OSU. Which means we would be in the bottom half of the B12. I need someone to talk me off the ledge. Anyhow, hook em horns and good luck tonight getting the upset!!
Bama up 10-2. Nothing going for us. Three turnovers in 6 possessions. Bad start. Can only get better.
I agree - looking too much like individual players and not a team. Guess that's what you get without a true point
When Shack plays within himself like he did, Roach gets into the lane and Mack is performing like he did in the second half, this is a very different team. They're starting to figure out the freethrows (somewhat). If they could just get the rebounding fixed, things might get interesting down the stretch.
Not lost by a long shot. As PH said above, they are figuring it out, and when that becomes consistent, we will be a much better team, and put up a string of W's.
Better to figure things out now and be ready for Conference rather than win now and forget how to win once Conference starts.
That was certainly an awesome 2nd half. I guess the ultimate question is did the light bulb finally come on in that 2nd half vs bama, and a prelude to what we'll see the rest of the season, or was a 1 half anomaly? I guess we'll find out Tue night against Meatchickin.
Don't know if the lights came on or not. For sure, some shots started falling. Nice to see a few threes start falling. That and to see Cleare knock down the short hook in the paint was really opening things up for us. And UM definitely will be another test. If we can keep some of that inside outside game going we have a shot.
The bad rebounding at the start of the season is a little bit of mystery. We have a 6'11, 6'10 and a robust 6'9 guy, why do we have a rebound problem?
Fair question, old65. I'm guessing its because our freshmen 6'11' and 6'10' guys are not adept yet at outmuscling and blocking out at the college level. As far as Cleare goes, he seems a little slow at blocking out. I would hope this improves as the season moves along. It has to for the team to succeed.
