Western Michigan vs Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl is interesting. Wiscy fans probably not liking that matchup at all. Can UW even keep it close against Bama? Not likely but one guy I would like to see take them down is Chris Petersen. I would like to see UW-Clemson for the title.
I like the Rose matchup the best. Petersen may have some tricks up his sleeve that he hasn't shown yet. He could make it interesting, but head to head I expect a Bama romp over UW.
WILL NOT watch Fiesta and Peach Bowl...Boycotting this POS play-off system until they stop screwing teams over for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
All New Year's Day games have been rescheduled this year. BYU rule. No college games on Sunday. Wonder how this will affect rankings. How many people go to work on Monday Jan 2?
So now they cigars will realize how stupid they were to fall for the B12 championship game right? .........not likely but sure puts a different spin on the whole idiotic idea.
More like the NFL rule. Bad for ratings to schedule football against the NFL. Since Jan 1 is a Sunday, most businesses that close in observance of New Year's Day are closed Jan 2.
Hardly the BYU rule. since it was used after the 1966 season, when fewer people cared about BYU than they do now, not to maximize the importance of BYU by saying anyone cares today.
There has been so much talk on this board about BYU not playing on Sunday I though I would just spit that out for grins. This is an issue on the average every seven years. No point in competing with the pros as that would really cause ratings problems. A lot of business will be open on Monday so I was just curious how ratings will be affected. I must confess I was ribbing Dion a little since the title of this thread is : New Year's Day Bowls.
