Looks like the team will have lots of options at positions (other than setter) next year so I think we can find replacements for the other seniors. As a replacement at the most important position on the team, I sure hope someone in the know can really give an accurate assessment of whether Fisbeck or Shook will be the setter . It appears they are about the same size (6-1") so we can take that out of the discussion. Realizing Fisbeck was behind an all-American senior it is understandable why she didn't get to play. In fact, I am not sure she played at all and could be redshirted? Somebody can advise if that is so? Shook is the number 6 recruit so her pedigree coming in is somewhat higher. In not having seen either player in high school or other...............a lot of us are just hoping and guessing. Having a setter that can play at the highest level by season's end will most likely dictate how far this very talented team will go. Someone mentioned going to a 5-2 early might happen. However, it appears with all the firepower elsewhere a 6-1 is inevitable late. Anybody know what the coaching staff is thinking about which one will be the first setter in the first game? HELP !

I think Fisbeck was a last minute roster offer when Elliot pulled a scholarship offer to a long-committed recruit (Buckingham who is now at TCU). I don't know much about her, but if he was prepping her to take over, he would have given her some game time sometime this year. Maybe he planned to redshirt her so purposely didn't play her? Also, I looked it up. I believe the number of scholarships for VB is 12 (http://scholarshipstats.com/ncaalimits.html) so it's obvious that some of the 17 on the team are walk-ons.

Chloe was an amazing leaper, blocker, and jouster. I wonder what we get with a 6-1 setter. (And I went back and looked that Hannah Alison was 5-11).
