^^^ TEXAS needs to QUICKLY do something to update/upgrade our HORRIFYINGLY, SHOCKING, and completely OUTDATED athletics facilities. this is simply not possible that KANSAS has better and more state-of-the-art athletics facilities than TEXAS. mack brown and his dear friend deloss dodds has performed a HUGE disservice to our MAGNIFICENT university. i am embarrassed for them.....

New lipstick for the football pig in Lawrence ... ok, yawn.

Clearly, some facility changes / updates are needed at UT.

    Never forget, WE'RE STILL TEXAS!

The HC change at the top was the PRIMARY program change needed on the 40 Acres and we got THAT!!! :hookem:

    Worster,

It is no coincidence that the KU video is short, shows the same low rent bar looking area, and never show what's outside the front door, although the view of Pike's Peak from Lawrence can be lovely. :smile1:

It has neon lights and a hashtag painted on the wall. That's about it. Color me unimpressed.

I never thought hot pink would go out of style, but it did. Give it five years and the more modern look is the one that'll be hopelessly dated.

That was my first thought as well. They added light bulbs to the cubbies and a cushion to sit on. Is an elite athlete that is considering Texas going to sign with a historical loser because they have new locker rooms? Screw national championships, I want a new locker room!

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking it looked more like a night club than a locker room.

I mean, it looks nice and all. But the catch is they make you play football for Kansas if you're going to use the space.

More like a strip club. Going by what I've seen in the movies, of course.

I really had no idea that KU's athletic facilities were better than Darrell K Royal/Texas Memorial Stadium, Frank Erwin Center, Disch-Falk Field, Jamail Texas Swim Center, Myers Track & Soccer Stadium, Moncrief/Neuhaus Athletic Center, Al-Rashid Strength Comlex, Cooley Pavilion, Charline McCombs Field, UT Golf Club and Academy, Weller Tennis Center.... my fingers are getting tired typing in all of the multi-multi-multi-million dollars of capital assets of the UT-Austin athletics programs.

Yeah, we're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind Kansas in state-of-the-art athletics facilities.

    Huh?

Oh, b/t/w, plenty of rankings/analysis on the web of what the best athletics facilities/football facilities are around the country. Here's one that has Texas as number 3. Go figure:

    1. Texas is far and away the cream of the crop when it comes to facilities in the Big 12, and easily near the top in the nation.

The football team gets to play at DKR Stadium, which is incredible in and of itself, but the amenities provided to players in the football complex are insane.

In a state that idolizes football, the Longhorn football program has long been Mecca, and these ridiculous digs for the football program cement that status.

Ridiculous screens to entertain players and teach the the system are scattered across the facility, as well as hot tubs, pools, meeting rooms, a practice field and a plethora of burnt orange.

Stop by some time and be amazed by the status that a Texas player enjoys in such palatial accommodations.

On second thought maybe my sarcasm meter needs calibrating as to OP?

Take a deep breath my friend.... they don't have better facilities. OK, yes M-N prolly needs an update....

KU football facilities got a facelift with some new swag, new paint, new acrylics, cool lighting, glitter, social media attention, other media publicity after upsetting UT at the end of the season.

    So what!!!

Get a grip.... THIS IS STILL LIPSTICK ON A COLLEGE FOOTBALL PIG!

Keep in mind, OP's avatar and his signature are both a Mercedes-Benz logo. That's what he believes defines him most as a person, "I drive a Mercedes." Not what he does, not what he's interested in. And on a site about Texas athletics, nothing related to Texas or athletics. No, it's the brand of the car he drives.

So it's no surprise that he's impressed by other hollow status symbols like neon lights in trendy locker rooms.

I admit, I haven't followed Meadowlark's posts closely enough to know whether he deserves some kind of troll label or insults, but if you are basing this tirade on this particular thread and his avatar, you are way out of line.

The Mercedes logo represents high quality German engineering, a well-known brand. I suppose your avatar has something to do with Mexican culture that you are proud of. To spin that into an assumption that such a connection completely defines a person's character is pretty over-the-top.

Sorry, but after the last 7 years this rings with all the resonance of a .BB in a boxcar. Hopefully sooner than later it will mean something again but as of today forget about it.
