A member of the Baylor University athletics department was arrested early Saturday morning in a prostitution sting.

McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said Brandon Washington, 33, was arrested by deputies at a local hotel on a solicitation of prostitution charge, a Class B misdemeanor.

The sheriff identified Washington as a strength coach at Baylor. A Baylor athletics department staffer confirmed that Washington was employed by Baylor when he was arrested early Saturday. County records identify Washington as an employee of 1090 Athletics.

The Baylor athletics website contained no mention of Washington as of late Monday evening.

Washington was a member of the strength training staff at Temple University in 2016. New Baylor head football coach Matt Rhule was hired away from Temple in December.

Deputies arrested Washington shortly after midnight Saturday after Washington arrived at the hotel to meet a prostitute, McNamara said.

Washington was released from the McLennan County Jail on Saturday after posting $1,000 bond.

Stay tuned folks. There'll be more...

Seems like he could have gotten hooked up by one of his football studs.

Maybe Coach Briles cut all that crap out. 9heh heh)

He should have pretended he was a football player instead of a coach. He would have gotten a pass. #Truth.Dont.Lie.But.Baylor.Does

I don't think we should rush to judgment but this mess at Baylor is more than just bad luck. Someone needs to push the reset button and start over.

I'm not condoning prostitution, but paying a slutty woman for sex doesn't rank anywhere near the evil or overpowering and penetrating and unwilling virgin.

Baylor is getting off light on this coach. I don't know him, but some people who do don't have nice things to say. Maybe the nicest was, "Jersey trash".

Gotta admit it's a bit of an odd situation what's legal and what isn't.

"I'll give you money if you have sex with me" is prostitution.
"He'll give you money if you have sex with me" is just pornography.

Low hanging fruit. LOL, That analogy is probably accurate in more ways than you think when describing a Waco prostitute.

Yes...I know you are trying to facetious, but Duh.
That goes for the guy too.
Adults should be able to make choices for themselves and then live with the consequences. We don't need no Nanny State.

The second half of your statement is where many young people get lost. They want to be able to make the choices but also want them to be consequence free.
