Well what just happened, u know what we need to use that to feed us motivate now beat KSU then win the Big 12 tournament and secure the automatic bid and get a 2 seed
Now we have to forget about seeding and all of that and just see if we can win a game. I think we've gotten too much favorable publicity and have been seen as a better team than we are. We can be great, but also awful. Our overdependence on McCarty and Atkins for points was brought home tonight in a painful way. Bill Fennelly is a brilliant coach and has beaten Texas just this way many times. Jeff Mittie of KSU is just as good and uses the same principles. If we could beat KSU, I'd be satisfied. I hope we're not even thinking about meeting Baylor again, because who knows what are chances are of getting there. There were so many things and people who were bad that I don't want to go there. We would probably do well now to think of ourselves as an underdog. Not near as much pressure on you then, and I think it is more fun anyway. I hope we can get our confidence back.
That was not the game I was expecting on Senior Night at all. There was just no clear focus on the game to me, by the Coaching Staff and the Player's. Now it was great see to B.Taylor do some thing's on the floor. And K.Lang hit her shot's.I was very happy for them. But at the same time, you got to stay in system, for what is working for your team.We stand around too much for me.There has to be more plays setup for J.Holmes and A.Atkins down low.I love when Atkins cuts across the lane and hit a jumper. That play is just not ran enough.Holmes should be killing team's on the block. But she is not placed there enough. And sometimes it don't hurt to mix up your Defense. Why no press. With the speed the team has. Hookem'
Yep, KSU will play the same defense as ISU. They always play a junk defense against Texas. They'll sag off of every shooter not named Brooke and force them to shoot from the perimeter.
Opposing coaches have just gone to the two points: 1) don't let McCarty take any shots 2) put bodies and a tangle of arms in the paint and don't let any passes get in for layups by Holmes or Lang
We've been out-coached by Coale and Fennelly...and as much as we've struggled the past few games, they were still ALL very winnable games but for a lack of effective adjustments.
