Horns drop game two 2-1 when tying run is thrown out at plate in top of ninth. Rubber game today.

    FWH,

Did you think he was out at the plate? Maybe I was hoping, but I'm not sure the catcher got the tag on him.

How long has it been since Kansas swept us in men's top three sports ???
They did it today !!! Football, basketball, and now taking series in baseball...SMDH
How long has it been since the 3 men's sports got shut out of post season play ?
    Football- no bowl
Basketball- no tourney (NCAA nor NIT)
Baseball- This team isn't getting a bid. We are bad.

Horns drop rubber match 5-4 and fall to 4-5 in conference.

I feel like a few words need to be said at this point. At 19-12 this team is much better than last year but still is a long way from what we all enjoyed from 2000 through 2013. In spite of the sky is falling crowd (as evidenced by entry above this one), this team is still a work in progress and while a lot of progress is being made its not happening over night. Its hard to be patient as a Texas baseball fan, but remember that Augie's first two years were losing records and everyone was ready to jump off a cliff. That was followed by an incredible 14 year run that included 8 CWS appearances and two NC's. Pierce is a good coach and he is doing all the right things recruiting, managing and developing. I am encouraged about the future and as a person who is in his fourth decade of watching Texas baseball I say that knowing where we have been and where we want to go.:hookem:

I guess someone took the wrong week to stop sniffing airplane glue.

That's "Airplane" humor, not a personal attack.

    This

Last season the team was not good and then quit. Everything in his history says Pierce will deliver when he has the tools. Right now there seems to be a little to much aggression and not enough recognition at the plate. At times last season Texas forgot what a hit looked like.

The sky is not falling, but this was an extremely disappointing series to lose. Kansas is the worst team in the Big 12 this year. We should have been able to win this series after sweeping a better Kansas State team, road or no road. This one hurts, but the season is far from over. On to the next one.

4 of our 5 conference losses by 1 run, plus the only midweek loss. Generally a good sign for things to come.

Hitting with RISP continues to be a sore spot but I am totally on the Pierce bandwagon.

This team has been frustrating. For instance, a hit batter keyed the Kansas rally in games 2 & 3. But this team is definitely improved over last year. 9 of the 12 losses have been by 1 run. This team is so close to winning more games. Need better at bats with risp. Too many strike outs at key times. Need to manufacture another run or 2 a game.
