Bet their girls aren't smiling after this loss !!!!! Actually they CRIED !!!!! You have to hate to lose to win like Texas wants to do.
Schaefer was the brains behind the great Aggie defense before he took over at MSt. He is a defensive genius. The law of averages was going to eventually catch up with the UConn streak, but this was more than that. MSt made the Connecticut offense look ordinary and exposed their lack of height inside. The UConn girls got a little rattled and contributed to their demise with missed free throws and boneheaded turnovers. Soniya Chong's failed drive to the basket, giving MSt the ball with over ten seconds left was one of the all time blunders of the NCAA Tournament. Still, MSt totally deserved it. They beat the Huskies. UConn will be even better next season, but this defeat was great for women's basketball. All the other teams now have hope again.
It was a great game and UCONN finally had a little bit of an off night, but largely due to how Miss. St. played them. Congrats to Miss. St, should be a good game between them and South Carolina tomorrow. I like UCONN a lot but I'm a little happy they will not win the championship this year.
I was away for a week and missed the greatest upset in womens sports went to New Orleans and took a tour of louisiana.
Clearly you didn't watch the press conference after our game with Ariel and Holmes. Not sure why you want to see college students hurt and upset, but check it out. Maybe seeing someone else down will finally give you a reason to post something positive which doesn't say much for you.
Kara Lawson tweeted Doris Burke's reaction to UConn's loss. I've always said Doris was biased for Geno and Huskies. Let's go to the videotape!
The UConn bias got stronger as the game went along and MSU would not go away. The last two minutes and the OT were horrible with the situation around the MSU Flagrant 1 (which should have been a PF at best) totally different than what happened on the floor. But then it was ESPN and their home state.
Doris has always been such a homer for Uconn and Geno that I always thought she was a former player for them but not so. She looked like she was about to throw up in the video. Oh, and that flagrant 1 foul....I think Samuelson was faking but she sold it to the refs. Just her demeanor when she walked off after making the free throws - such arrogance.
