I know, I know, a lot can change in 3 years. But at this rate, we will only have room for 3 of these great players, with the Holmes/Underwood/Sutton class graduating.

There will be at least 5 scholarships open the year before (Higgs, Hosey, White, Aborowa and K Caron-Goudreau) so I wouldn't be surprised if there were 1 or 2 carried over if the staff felt confident about their chances with some of the 2020s.

Good point. That, and the 2019 class doesn't appear to be as loaded with Texas prospects and two of the best, Green and Oliver, committed to other programs.

Not only is KA a prolific recruiter, she does so in a very strategic fashion and in "layers"( if you will). Unlike some others that stockpile and over-recruit same-year, same-position players.. ending up with dissention within the ranks and mass transfers (ie Baylor). KA also is very good at being able to create situations that give her options and opportunities to make room, seemingly without screwing players over (unlike Mulkey). No need to fret on how many schollies are coming available... We've pretty much always got a little "wiggle room."

A couple of things that stand out to me about Littleton -- as Zig72 points out, look at that 90% free throw shooting! I don't remember anyone on our team who has shot that high a percentage. Also, that she was MVP on the Bounce Back team in the USA U18 3x3 competition -- her teammates included the highly regarded Christyn Williams and Aquira DeCosta.

Just a point of note Joe but you posted this in the 2020 recruiting thread? Not sure you meant to?

She's Ballin' Recap of a few attendees at last weekend's event in Austin:
    Deja Kelly- 2020
Though just finishing her freshman year, Deja has been a known commodity for years. The UT commit made national news when she pledged as a 7thgrader and is making Karen Aston look very smart. Kelly has elite size at the guard position. She constantly lived in the paint by big bodying smaller guards with a tight handle and savvy pace. What has improved immensely is her ability to facilitate. She has always been a dimer, a player that makes passes that to lead to shots. She now understands how important hockey assists and timely touches are for lead guards. Very few guards embrace contact like her and has added a soild pull up. She is now a true three zone scorer.

    London Clarkson- 2020
Clarkson has the frame of a college power forward but the growing offensive skill set that will allow her to play on the perimeter. Possessing the ability to be big in the paint, rebounding out of area and taking real estate, Clarkson showed a knack for scoring over longer defenders with counters. She reminds me of a younger version of Oklahoma State star, Kylee Jensen. While Jensen has a bigger frame, Clarkson shares the ability to be physical and display finesse. Looking to stand around 6’2, Clarkson will be a matchup problem at the collegiate level with continued growth in her perimeter skills.

"Trials to determine finalists for the 2017 USA Women’s U16 National Team will take place May 25-29 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Players eligible for this team must be U.S. citizens born on or after Jan. 1, 2001."

Born on or after 01/01/2001? God I feel old.

Interview with Deja Kelly at the under 16 USA Basketball Trials. She is just so cute, mature beyond her years and can flat out hoop. Glad she is committed to our Longhorns.
    Hope she makes the team!
    Good Luck Deja!!:hookem2:

Appreciate the video but I think that is from her U16 tryout 2 years ago when she was going against 2018s.

This 2020 class has the potential to be great. It would be fantastic to add Sasha and Sarah with Deja.

Good to see Jordyn Merritt make the cut. 2019 Taylor Jones did not make the cut.

Well Darn! Neither did Sasha Goforth or Taylor Jones who both hold Texas offers.
Still 6 girls from Texas on the list.

Jordyn Merritt 2020 from Plano is the only one I know for sure who has a Texas offer. She is listed as a 6'2" guard?
Nyah Green from Dallas Bishop Lynch is committed to Louisville
Jordyn Oliver from Prosper is committed to Baylor
Sarah Andrew 2020 5'7" G from Irving MacArthur - would bet she has a Texas offer?
Elizabeth Scott 2019 6' G/F from Klein Oak - Not listed on ESPN top 25 in class of 2019
Jewell Spear 2020 5'8" G from the Colony - Not listed on ESPN top 50 in class of 2020

Will be interesting to see the final 12 member team selection.

1 Hook 'em and a sic em...hopefully Jordyn eventually throws up the Horns, maybe Sarah Andrews as well. Have to think UCONN is the leader for Myra if Geno offers.

This is just to report on some things I read about the USA Basketball U16 trials last week. I ran across a tape of Kenny Kalina reacting to the tryouts. (I'm not sure who Kenny Kalina is, but apparently one of the gurus on recruiting.) I assume he was at the trials. He disagreed quite a bit with some of the final choices. He really likes Jordan Merritt and didn't understand her not making the team. Said he would have chosen her over Jordan Oliver, the Baylor commit who was chosen. He made no mention of Deja Kelly, whom he had called the best point guard in the class the year before. He pointed out, and it's obviously true when you look at the list, that most of the players came from the Northeast and Midwest. He seemed to take it as an anti-Southern bias, but maybe that's where the best players are from for that age group. Also, I read some positive reports on Taylor Jones' performance, I think from Mike Flinn, though she did not make the team, I don't believe, even the semifinal cut.

Caitlin sounds fantastic. Glad we got our offer in early. Iowa is not an area of the country we've had many, if any, players from before.

There is a positive reaction on the UConn board to the way Caitlin Clark is playing in the USA U16 games. They do not seem to have been familiar with her before. Besides Brunell, the player they seem most taken with is Page Brueckers. I think she is from somewhere in the Midwest. Moooooo will know about her.

Free throw rate is the ratio of foul shots to field goal attempts, expressed as FTA/FGA.
