This is a good thing for all sides. Remove the politicians and political appointees from the investigation. Already both sides are touting how credible Mueller is. He'll need this credibility at the point that either side (both?) will eventually attack him for political points just like they did Comey.

Mueller's biggest challenges will be to fend off Trump's bullying and limit the leaking, both of which are major problems.

I read/heard somewhere this likely means that the Comey memo doesn't see the light of day. Comey won't be testifying to Congress any time soon either.

For Comey's sake, he better not appear. His "memo" contradicts his testimony of May 3rd.

Without a doubt, Comey will need to explain to Mueller's team why he didn't act on the February conversation.

Um, because the President did not order Comey to end the investigation. It's just that simple. Period.

Good post. Interesting how Comey's sworn testimony before Congress gets no airplay, but some unseen memo, read to a reporter by an anonymous source (alledgedly), is all the MSM has talked about for 3 days.

Huge miscalculation by the Dems and NeverTrumpers. They didn't think this flimsy obstruction claim through before loudly playing the impeach card as a unified call.

It's a damn shame the man who supposedly is behind the claim is recorded under sworn testimony that no such obstruction attempt happened.

Doesn't matter what Comey's memos say or he testifies now, at the very least he's guilty of perjury if he now claims it happened. Won't be hard for Trump's lawyers to defend against a claim consisting of vastly opposing sworn statements during testimony.

One thinks scattered impeachment demands had tiny legs before, wait til this claims is debunked and the large of collection of impeach screamers are left dangling in the wind.

Next time they all get their panties in a bunch this impeach for obstruction wolf cry will have kneecapped their remaining shreds of influence.

That's for Bob Mueller to decide. He's now leading the investigation.

Unlike each of resident FBI investigators on this board, I don't have the benefit of knowing all the evidence to proclaim there is no there there. There was enough evidence for Rosenstien to deem a Special Prosecutor was necessary. That's all we know.

Look, Comey admitted under oath that there was no coercion from the Trump administration. Is that so hard to believe for you?

You responded to a video of Comey, under oath, testifying that he has never been told to stop an investigation for inappropriate reasons. This is months after the "meeting" in the Oval Office the left is claiming where Trump ordered him to stop the Flynn investigation. It didn't happen. Doesn't take being an FBI agent to figure this out.

And he drafted the infamous memo before that hearing. Clearly he needs to answer that discrepancy. Of course, we also know that what's said under oath in these hearings is sometimes changed after the fact. Example: Jeff Sessions says under oath that he had no interactions with the Russians then later amends that admit he'd met with Kislayak.

The continuous attempt to shut down the investigation before it's complete is transparent.

Actually I think he did say "Trump Tower."

I'm guessing he was referring to American Political History. But I understand how you libs take every single word and dissect it to death. Good thing Madonna isn't a Republican or you'd be attacking her for wanting to blow up the White House.

Yes, he was referring to his treatment by the press. Nothing like Mandela being jailed by a government. A stupid comparison.

It wouldn't be remotely true in American political history. Trump has demonstrated how little he knows about our history so that's not a surprise.

SH, they were trying to impeach him before he even took office. They never gave him a chance. The sad thing is what we sent him there to do he's doing an excellent job so far. Wish Healthcare would have just been repealed, but outside of that I have no other complaints. But you guys and the MSM want to muddy his accomplishments by distracting with fake news and the silly a$$ talking points you wait for every time something comes up.

What I35 said ... and I didn't vote for Trump.

It's amazing ... the guy who said he wanted single payer at least as late as Sep 15 ... the left is criticizing policy. LOL ... reckon they don't know a stick from a hole in the ground. Just saying.

Trump should be impeached for obstruction of justice...

for waivering on appointing a special cousel into Hillary and saying he thought she has been through enough.

But I guess expressing your feelings about close associates is only abstruction of justice when you are an overemotional liberal basket case.

Accomplishments? Gorsuch on the Supreme Court. Reduction in illegal immigration. What else?

Yes, the Russia intrusion investigation started long before he took office, before the election even. The Trump - Russia collusion investigation also started before the election per Comey. Evidently you think like Trump, simply by virtue of his election the investigation should stop. In the meantime, Flynn was forced out because of his lies and what turned out to be many ties to foreign governments. That sir would have been your DNI if not for MSM. That was more than a talking point. Trump admitted to Lester Holt that the Russian investigation was on his mind when he made the decision to fire Comey. Fake news? That and the Comey memo led to a Special Prosecutor. At some point, you have to acknowledge the smoke when the fire is climbing up your leg. Or not. Your choice.

Welcome back texas_ex2000. Can we assume you are supportive of impeachment/imprisonment of Trump for revealing classified info?

BTW- I'm not calling for either at this point although I'd be perfectly fine if he voluntarily chose to resign. Not holding out hope for that though.

Below are the tweets. Seems to me he's implying his "wires" in Trump Tower, not general wires in Trump Tower. Tweet #1 says "my". Tweet #2 references them wire tapping a race for President. Tweet #3 says "tapping my phones". Tweet #4 says "tapp my phones". Sick guy. The thing is, if he'd stay off the twitter and not whip certain things out to have them measured (see the intelligence leak this week) or actually follow talking points during interviews and not give away the store in each interview (see Lester Holt this week) he'd be ahead of the game. As it stands he's a red shirt on Star Trek sinking in quick sand.

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 4, 2017

Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wire tapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 4, 2017

I'd bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 4, 2017

How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!

That's a textbook example of a self-inflicted wound by Trump, not remotely media created controversy.

LOL. I've been a bigger Trump critic than you since he came on the scene, and I'm not calling for impeachment yet. All I wanted was a special counsel to be appointed and to watch the process play out without rendering judgment, and that's what I'm going to do. When Mueller's investigation is done, I'll decide whether I want Trump impeached.

Deez...I don't think you read through my whole post haha.

Anyways...the good is Mueller will clean up this retarded political mess once and for all. The bad is we are divided and one mouth frothing side is wasting the people's time because they can't stand losing.

    1) Sharing intel w/Russia - happens all the time with countries with which we have common enemies. Pakistan/China, etc. The POTUS has prerogative to do so. Many a POTUS has done so, and many after Trump will also. I have not read anything credible about Trump revealing sources and methods with Russia.

    2) Obstruction of justice - Didn't Comey under sworn testimony confirm he has never been directed/asked to stop an investigation from the Administration? If you recall, there are still ongoing Clinton FBI and Congressional investigations...yet Trump has PUBLICLY stated he thinks Hillary has been through enough. But no impeachment pitchforks for that one?

    3) Russia interference in election - Yeah it happened...I would be shocked if it didn't because Russia, like the US, has been interferring in each others' and their proxies' elections and politics for close to 100 years. As far as Trump collusion? Where the heck is the evidence? Yawn.

Get over November folks and get a life.

#1. The difference is that our intel was given to us by Israel. The information was shared with Russia. Russia is an ally with Iran who wants to see Israel made into a glass factory. IC rules are the finder of the information owns it insofar as sharing it goes. Had he shared this information with one of the 5 Eyes, not a big deal as they're allies. Russia is not an ally. The bigger question is WTF were they doing in the Oval?

#2. Whatevs. Comey doesn't write memos like for the mental exercise. He got the gist of the conversation and responded accordingly. Covered his bases.

#3. What we may see that will have more of an impact. Russian $ into the election with knowledge from many of the players. Collusion between Russian fronts (money, technical expertise, etc.) and Trump folks. That would include campaign finance moves and advertising moves made in conjunction with hacking/illegal data sharing operations. Roger Stone all but admitted to that already. It would be like me shorting Boeing stock and then DJT trashing Boeing 24 hours later and I cleaned up. If there was foreknowledge, planning, coordination, etc. there is what you'd call illegal activity. When it comes to a soft coupe like this the technical term is treason, methinks.

    This should get interesting.

We share intel with non- 5 Eyes often when we have common enemies. E.g., Pakistan.

And Israel is not a 5 Eyes country and intel from Israel isn't bound by the 5 Eyes treaty. Additionally...Israel spies like crazy against the US.

How do you know specifically what Trump shared or didn't share that specifically and exclusively came from Israel? How do you know sources and methods were compromised?

Maybe Trump is really a criminal and a traitor and a Manchurian Candidate. However, the hyperbolic coverage of Trump is so over the top that one can't rely on what the MSM tell you. You have to use your common sense. What would Trump's motive to collude with the Russians possibly be? He's already told them to GFY in Syria. I hate to say it - nearly a decade in the IC and the real rat I smell is the Media.

Please correct me. If, in the course of my film review, I come upon a Texas Tech tell in their alignment and I share it with my friend that works at Houston, it is understood (using what I read to be common IC courtesies) that my friend at Houston is not supposed to share it with his friends at Texas as that will discount my relative advantage over UT.

In the case of Israel > US > Russia > Iran, Iran wants Israel dead. Sharing intel that Trump heard from them with Russia is clearly, to borrow a term from the kids, sketchy. My understanding is that when the workers in the White House reviewed what took place in the meeting they shat themselves and got on the horn with NSC to let them know about the breach. The same people who've started putting "Trump" into things that they're trying to get POTUS to look at in the daily presidential briefing as, it seems, he reads things when they have his name in them at a greater rate. Like a 17 year old is wont to do.

    Am I wrong?
