You just have to catch her when she's awake. Sometimes I think she's expired a while back and this is one of those situations like "a weekend with bernie"
Looks like talk is heating up on safe zones in Syria. Putin says U.S., Russia, Iran, and Turkey are tentatively on board. The proposal calls for four buffer zones to be patrolled by troops from Russia, Iran, and Turkey. Apparently no U.S. troop involvement which sounds even better. There are clear ulterior motives for the selection of those troops, but who cares if it nips refugee flow and combats ISIS at the same time...the two direct threats to the homeland. Safe zones severely decreasing the refugee invasion of the West would be a huge accomplishment for DT along with the ongoing reduction in illegal immigration. Next time DT voters feel buyer's remorse because he hasn't fulfilled every promise within months of a 4-year term, just remember HRC would never agree to partner with Putin on safe zones (the only way it could work) to halt the refugee flow. Comey testified again this week the FBI has insufficient ability to vet Syrian refugees. Just wait until the real refugee problems begin. Once ISIS loses Raqqa they'll disband and order foreign fighters back home and local ones to infiltrate the refugee population. Nonetheless, HRC wanted to increase refugee intake (6x in Year 1) like her globalist pals Merkel, Trudeau, Macron, etc. No doubt that number would've ballooned annually. Plus illegal immigration would be soaring with no resistance to sanctuaries, weak border defense, and promises of coming amnesty.
I'm not a dyed in the wool republican. I don't subscribe to the full party platform and don't try to support/defend everything they do just because they are GOP. I think they have a few bad ideas and bad policy to go with it. I think it is a mistake for either party to take power and then pursue "the platform" across the board. It's obvious that the vast majority of middle America does not support either parties platform 100%. We are no longer in a 'find oil for security' window. We have access to and stores of substantial quantities of energy resources. This administration's claim that we are doing this for national security, rings hollow. Opening up the parks to drilling will do zip to change prices, as will the artic. While the EPA does have issues with biased science and an agenda that is not always business friendly, I'm of the opinion that we should be "better safe than sorry" on climate, water, air and other environment issues. You're probably familiar with black mold since you're on a Texas board...I would liken environmental considerations to that phenomenon. If you had a large water leak in your home, it isn't guaranteed that you would develop the dreaded black mold, but it's likely enough and the potential for financial loss is severe enough that if you're a homeowner of even meager resources, you're going to spend the money to clean up the water, dry out the house and even open up the walls in order to ensure black mold doesn't happen. To me...doing anything less with our planet is ridiculous. If the preponderance of evidence suggest that there is climate change and that humans likely are contributing...and that there are actions we can take to limit/alter that future....its completely ridiculous that we would let temporary business concerns drive the policy, instead of the future of our children. I get that the science is not 'settled' and that there is bias in the science and reporting but I also get that the potential for harm is so great that before we pursue new potentially harmful actions, we should be darned sure that fracking, coal mining, artic drilling et al... can be sustained without further damage to our children's future.
As for the political capital assertion...while politicians may have an abundance of opportunity to sling stuff against the wall, only well thought out and planned actions typically have a chance to succeed. And if your team engages in a "sling stuff and see what sticks" approach...the "L's" will rack up. When that happens, you lose momentum and start to lose even more. It's important to pick 1) fights that you can win and/or 2) fights that are important to win.
That article doesn't support the headline. Food stamps enrollment is down and immigration activity has increased. Causation doesn't equal correlation.
Netanyahu and Abbas have accepted invitations from Trump for a three-way summit to discuss a peace deal. The Israeli and Palestinian leaders last met for peace talks in 2010. Later this month Trump will also attend a summit in Saudi Arabia with 17 Muslim heads of state, including Abbas.
Mexican Border Apprehensions Hit 17-year Low The arrests of illegal immigrants crossing the southwest border by Border Patrol agents decreased again in April. This is the fifth straight month of decline. The total apprehensions of illegal border crossers hit a 17-year low. The April report, released this week, reveals that apprehensions dropped from the previous month by five percent. The number of apprehensions has dropped each month since President Donald Trump took office. In January, 42,473 illegal immigrants were apprehended after crossing the border. By April, that number had dropped to 15,780, a drop of 26,693.
Well, well, looks like Iran's buddy Abbas is playing both sides. Now he's jockeying for trilateral peace talks between Israel, Palestine, and Russia. “It is impossible to solve the Palestinian issue without Russia’s meaningful participation in the peace process,” Abbas said, according to Tass, an official Russian news agency. “That is what we have been emphasizing at all international meetings.” Abbas, who visited the White House last week, arrived in Russia on Wednesday to meet with Putin and other officials. The PA leader also reiterated that he is willing to participate in a trilateral meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Putin in Moscow. “We are ready to accept this invitation at any time,” Abbas said.
It's certainly the POTUS' prerogative to fire his staff and he should if he identifies who is disloyal within the White House.
Unfortunately, I dont think leaking WH stuff is a crime Unless it was something classified and, if so, these people probably never should have had access to it anyway
WINNING! Of course, Rasmussen is the outlier by far compared to all the other approval polls. RCP has his average at 39.8% approval after Rasmussen pulls it up. Let's accept 48% for just a moment, Rasmussen still says that 52% of Americans disprove of Trump. 60% say America is on the "wrong track".
48 percent approval isn't something to brag about. It's what you say when people say your Administration is completely in the crapper.
And of course, polling is an exact science with a sterling reputation for accuracy. Pollsters are held in such high regard because they don't phrase questions in such a manner as to guarantee specified results, and never engage in oversampling.
