Yeah, she switched from Tx Adidas Elite to Cy Fair a month or two before EYBL kicked off.

Highlights from last weekend's EliteIsEarned event with Deja (#56), Sedona (#300), and Lolo (#152).

I'm always impress how well Sedona moves with the ball. We've got a good one.

Sedona does have a great short range perimeter game but she does not get inside and fight for rebounds! During the 2 games I saw her play at the State tournament she had one offensive rebound! She is easily blocked out, lacks aggressiveness and stands and watches when the ball goes up! I would bet the expectations for her at Texas will be very different. Don't get me wrong though, I think she is a Super prospect but she needs to add strength and bulk to play at the an elite 8 level. Which is now the minimum Texas standard!!

Shae doesn't seem to do the camp circuit so we don't see much of her but it looks like she's longer and leaner than I remember.

Tina Thompson comment on the video of Sedona:
"Young, has no idea how good she is. And awesome kid"

Though a 3* currently outside the Top 60 on ESPN, ProspectsNation has her at #28 with 4*.

While looking at PN's player rankings, saw a couple of names from the 'vaguely familiar' category: Aeriel Adkins and Brittany Garner.

Thanks to you all for keeping us updated on recruiting prospects. Wow, there are a lot of good players in this state. Glad we got Sedona, and wouldn't mind getting some more of these players.

I'd be VERY careful criticizing incoming recruits on here, especially those who have not signed. First of all, Sedona is ranked in the TOP TEN, and had the likes of UConn and others seeking her commitment, which speaks for itself. Secondly, she is NOT your typical 6'7" post player. She is VERY VERY AGILE and ATHLETIC. She can play as a stretch 4 or a stretch 5. She has a beautiful shot, is very proficient in the mid range game, and can even shoot the 3. She is an outstanding athlete, hard worker and MAJOR TALENT. She is also an outstanding person. Her upside is unlimited. I certainly trust Karen and staff's decisions regarding who they want, and, more importantly, WHY they want them. This young lady is going to do VERY SPECIAL things for Texas. We lost her commitment once, and I don't think it serves any purpose to be that critical of her. Let's keep in mind that recruits and their families DO read this board.

Does Sedona remind anyone else of Breanna Stewart? Something about the way she moved with the ball in the video posted by DFW_Horn made me think of Breanna. Really excited to see her in Burnt Orange.

I wouldn't load those types of expectations on any high school player but you aren't the first to make the Stewart comparison. A head coach of a high school they faced in the state tourney made a similar comment.

    This!

EVERY recruit comes into the next level with a learning curve and/or area(s) that need more work than other areas. The same can be said for graduates going into the professional level. I'm confident Sedona's experiences this summer and going forward will help her identify any facets of her game to work on. She's a very special talent with an even more special attitude... RARE COMBINATION. Glad she's ours!

I haven't seen anything about any schools of interest for Madison Williams. I vaguely recall that she may have attended one of our football games last fall, but not sure that was ever confirmed.

I'm definitely no expert, but I think she is ranked too high; and, Zarielle Green at #24 is ranked way too low.

Did anyone else know that Shae had suffered a torn ACL? I looked through the thread but did not see (or overlooked) any mention of it.

Hopefully they're still referring to the injury she suffered as a sophomore

I mentioned it on page 5 of this thread. If it's the same injury, it happened sometime in late January, early February of 2016. I hope she hasn't had another one. But, some kids take longer than others to overcome ACL injuries.

That explains it. I was thinking it was an injury that occurred this past season - started looking through the posts from Fall 2016. It must have been pretty severe or they are being very cautious with the pace. Hope she can make a full recovery.

I just noticed that Sedona Prince is rebounding for Shae in the video clip. Great to see that they work out together. :coolnana: The future looks bright, Very Bright!

Wow, that's very interesting. UConn folks won't like it. They are dead set on getting Christyn.

That and she plays for Cy Fair Elite with Sedona and Deja - hopefully they are working on her. Plus Sug and Joyner can do some recruiting on the U19 team.

Great find Jusme. Of all of the schools on her list Baylor and Texas are the closest to her home town. IMO, proximity sometimes gets more important as the reality of going away to college becomes more of reality.

Very interesting that she added Texas. As other posters have mentioned, it helps when she has been running in the same circles as Karen, Joyner, Sug, Sedona and Deja.

Glad to hear we are still under consideration by Christyn. I remember thinking it was odd back in October when she apparently dropped us from her list of 8 schools down to 7 schools (simply because trimming one school of a list of 8 seemed unusual). Perhaps our coaching staff never gave up.

I think it will be tough to get her, and we probably have ground to make up on her other finalists. But, something obviously changed that has us back under consideration. I still think she is UConn bound (rarely does a recruit pay their own way for an unofficial visit all the way to UConn and not end up signing with the Huskies, if offered).

Regardless, we are back in the mix. I saw where NaLyssa Smith didn't even have South Carolina on her long list back in October, and now they got an official visit from her and appear to be the leader.
