Peyton Aucoin ..... Brother Martin (New Orleans, LA)
    :hookem::hookem::hookem:-horn ..... TE ..... 6-4/255 ..... TEXAS

Although he's unranked by the services Now ranked as a 3-star, this MANster looks more like a Wickline pick than a Traylor offer. BTW, Aucoin is pronounced oh quinn.
Will add bona fide analysis when it becomes available. In the meantime, enjoy the Hudl - this kid loves to block. No, seriously, he LOVES to block.

    Per 247Sports via OB:
TE Peyton Aucoin discusses his Texas offer...
"Coach Traylor said to give him a call, so I did, and he gave me an offer," Aucoin said. "We talked a lot about how I could fit into the system. He said I can do what he needs his tight ends can do and that he likes my athleticism because I'm a basketball player, too."

"I feel like I could be a good fit there. I'm more of a blocker than a receiver. I have an 11-minute highlight and about 10 minutes of it is me blocking. But I can also catch the ball, too."

"I'm pretty excited about the offer," Aucoin said. "It's one of the bigger schools that has offered me, so I'm really interested. I know they are back on the rise and have a great tradition."

    Per OB:
TE Peyton Aucoin on visiting UT...
"I talked to coach Traylor last week," Aucoin said. "I just found out he's going to be staying up there. Originally, he was supposed to go speak at a banquet, but he’s staying (in Austin) so he can see me. So that's pretty special."

"I’m just looking forward to seeing the facilities, meeting with coach Strong, meeting the staff and seeing how I feel about everything."

"It’s definitely the history of the program," Aucoin said when asked what’s making him want to fly to Austin to get a look at the UT program. "It’s how they’ve always been such a good team. In the past couple years they’ve struggled, but they're back on the up and coming."

"Texas is definitely one of the top schools for me. I really like the program. I haven't started narrowing it down but they're definitely up there at the top."

    Per 247Sports:
“I know Coach Strong is a great coach,” Aucoin said. “I really like Coach Traylor, too. We built a really good relationship. He would always check in on me every couple of days. He’s really easy going and someone I would enjoy playing for.”

At 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, Aucoin is one of the best blocking tight ends in the 2016 class. In fact, most schools liked him as an offensive tackle. But Texas plans to keep him at his natural position, something that went a long way in his recruitment.

“Coach Traylor sees me as a big blocking tight end that can also be a part of the passing game,” Aucoin said. “That’s what I want to be. Some people say I remind them of Mike Ditka, so I guess I’m a little old school.”

    Per HD:
Texas fans, there is a lot of Geoff Swaim in Aucoin's game, which, if you like tough-nosed, blocking tight ends, is perfect for you.

But Aucoin is much more than just a blocking tight end at 6-foot-5 and 251 pounds. He uses his big frame well in passing situations akin to how a post player does in the paint.

Texas made him feel like he could be an important part of its future plans at the ‘Y’ position.

”My talk with Coach Strong was great because he emphasized the program, principles and his expectations for his players,” Aucoin said. “My parents loved Coach Strong and his style of coaching. Coach Watson talked about my ability to fit into the offense and play a true Y position and how important I am to them. The plan for the new offense was great because I could fit into it and thrive.”

Texas is making strides with LSU commitment Jamal Pettigrew, who visited Texas last weekend.

    Per IT:
Aucoin... is a strong in-line blocker thanks to his ability to use his size and feet to control the momentum of defensive ends on zone runs, as a lead blocker he brings a lot of punch and that skill set makes him a good for the new “B” tight end position in Texas’ offense. His skills as a receiver are harder to discern in his run-centric HS tape but he’s fluid enough with the ability to extend and bring a ball in on the run, which are baseline competencies even if he’s not a huge threat running routes in the seam.

If you are looking for a tight end that will line up and try to kick the guy’s *** lined up across from him, then you will love Peyton Aucoin. This kid doesn’t give you the dimension of being able to throw to him as a receiving threat, but he will hit your butt until the cows come home and love every minute of it.

Solid job of combo blocking and sliding off to square up on his next guy. Love guys who block hard all the way to the whistle like he does several times on the tape. Nice addition.

So this class has hit its targets at QB, WR, and TE (hopefully one more). Just need OL and DL, which will come. Too much panic among the fans.

Can you imagine him paired with McNeal or Clarington?

Aucoin tells us he's "pumped up" about the upcoming season for the Longhorns and while he hasn't settled on which game he will attend, he knows he "will make at least one."

While being in out-of-state commit poses travel challenges in-state recruits don't necessarily experience, Aucoin stays connected via the Longhorn Network, which he had installed a couple of days after he committed to the 'Horns.

    "It's awesome."

Peyton Aucoin comments from this past weekend's visit:
"The whole weekend was great. Hanging with Shane, Demarco, and Collin was a blast. Coming into the program already knowing people is a necessity and hanging with them definitely helped."

"We didn't even talk much about the program. They're focus was that we had a good time and they reminded us this trip was all about us. Coach dos mention how the future of the program is very bright though.

"Getting the news about coach Gilbert was great. Meeting coach mattox and him was great. They're both cool dudes and they're young so they're easy to relate to. We talked a lot about where we were from then talked a whole lot of football."
