Bernie says Republicans don't believe in science...but apparently he doesn't believe in math.

    Watching this on TV.

Right before saying Republicans don't believe in science, he said he worked with Hillary on a plan to revolutionize higher education: Kids from families making less than $120k a year, ~87% of all families, will go to a public college or university tuition free.

The best part, he said, is that this plan will reduce the debt of our students.

Climate change is the leading Democratic party priority because it is an end around to complete government regulation of private industry. Socialists figured out that they can never win on the merits of their ideas since they consistently fail every time they are implemented. So they cloaked themselves in the harmless cover of Environmentalism. I mean who doesn't want clean air and water, right? It has been a very successful move for them, and they know it. Unfortunately, most of the electorate will never see through this farce.

Bernie's fiscal responsibility is non-existent. You can't tax the top 10% enough to pay for his programs.

Who cares about the environment, right?

Climate change has been a successful issue with their base. In the few polls I've seen on this, Dems ranked it as their 2nd highest priority among all issues.

Unfortunately for them it ranked well below economy, terrorism, immigration, and at least one other issue by Independents.

We don't even have to mention how low it ranked among Reps.

Bottom line is climate change propaganda won't win the election.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Trump could win this thing with a very odd coalition. The law & order move was brilliant and very well-timed. It will win over many independents. The anti-free trade and illegal immigrant positions will win him a lot of blue votes from manufacturing states.

I just noticed that Trump has taken the lead in the RCP average for the first time ever. This is going to be an interesting election season. Unfortunately it ends with Trump or Clinton as POTUS.

It's def a strategy to win big on Independents and Reps. It was working well enough to stay close by holding his Ind lead and a sizable (but lacking) portion of Reps.

Now that he's made a lot of ground rallying the large block of Conservatives who were holding back, there's no doubt this race is a dead heat.

Trump spent his last few weeks (including the convention) doing all he could to appeal to disgusted Bernie supporters, sway unaffiliated middle voters, and comfort far right Reps.

He even made a large appeal to the LGBTQ community a few times at the convention.

He's done a solid job with it though no one knows how Bernie's anti-corruption crew will react. But clearly the overwhelming strategy was expanding his support beyond loyalists.

This week Trump's on a tour dedicated to meeting with Hispanic leaders around the country to increase his struggling numbers on that front.

IMHO, all the Dems are doing is preaching to the choir all week. None of those far right socialist policies will resonate with most of the middle, and certainly not with the right.

The debates are gonna make or break one of them. Clinton will begin in the hole as she's going to have to defend all these new free entitlements and explain who's paying for it.

Their new, radical platform is so far left it's almost indefensible to anyone but their base. When Independents hear all this in the debates it could be big trouble.

The FBI is looking into Bernie's wife's action while president of Burlington College from 2004 to 2011

".....The investigation stems from a land deal Jane Sanders attempted to make back in 2010 when she tried to acquire 32 acres of land for the school. She overstated the amount of money the school had fundraised in order to get a loan to buy the new property, claiming she had $2.6 million when in fact she only had $676,000.

Coralee Holm, Burlington College’s former dean of operations and advancement, told Seven Days that the school itself was not part of the investigation and it was centered around Jane Sanders.

The college goes bankrupt. The Sanders family buys a third home for vacations. What a bunch of amateurs. The Clintons could have squeezed a private island with a palatial home on it out of a fake college scam.

Those Lefties! They love nothing better than redistributing the wealth -- to themselves.

You sure did. That was the strategy. Where guys like me went wrong is that we assumed the gains wouldn't be as big as they were and would be more than outweighed by losses of educated voters and higher voter turnout by pissed off Latinos. That may have happened in Colorado, Nevada, and Virginia, but it definitely didn't happen in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Florida.

A whole lot of people misjudged the Latino response. Trump didn't exactly win them over, but there is a pretty significant part of the Latino community that very much wants better border security and a crack-down on illegal entry. The left isn't used to having a fragmented segment - it is much more comfortable saying that a particular minority group has a uniform outlook. But the Latino community has always been a lot more complex than that.

Trump's border rhetoric was always going to inflame the people who were made to begin with, but I don't think most conservative leaning Latinos ever felt threatened by it. At least not the ones I know.

To be fair, it was a toss-up election between the two worst Presidential candidates of my lifetime. Very difficult to extrapolate previous data to the 2016 election.

Some more on Jane O'Meara Sanders-FBI probe

Leavitt is one of five people formerly associated with Burlington College who have confirmed to Seven Days that they were contacted, interviewed and, in some cases, subpoenaed by federal authorities over the past 15 months. While much about the inquiry remains shrouded in mystery, documents and interviews suggest that it is a serious criminal investigation focused on a $6.5 million bank loan application the college made in 2010 to pay for a $10 million lakeside campus.
    *****
The investigation appears to be serious enough that authorities have issued federal grand jury subpoenas to procure documents. Vermont Educational and Health Buildings Financing Agency executive director Robert Giroux, whose state agency issued tax-exempt bonds to cover Burlington College's $6.5 million loan, clammed up when asked about the situation Monday.
    *****
The crux of Toensing's 2016 complaint was that, in order to secure the $6.5 million loan, O'Meara Sanders "successfully and intentionally engaged in a fraudulent scheme to actively conceal and misrepresent material facts from a federal financial institution." Though O'Meara Sanders certified that Burlington College had locked down $2.6 million in future gifts and grants, the school realized only $676,000 of that over the next four years, according to audits.
    **********
An opposition research file compiled by 2016 presidential rival Hillary Clinton and obtained by WikiLeaks includes five pages of news stories about O'Meara Sanders' time at Burlington College.

Misrepresentation? That's not a crime, but standard operating procedure for the left.

    "Jane Sanders Lawyers Up"
Allegation that Bernie used his influence.

And, of course, he blames Trump for the problems

Bernie Sanders was in the midst of an interview with a local TV reporter early last month when the senator fielded an unexpected question about an uncomfortable matter.

“There’s an implication, and from at least one individual, an explicit argument that when they called for an investigation into Burlington College that you used your influence to secure a loan from People’s United—”

    The senator cut him off.

Sanders is used to fielding softball questions from an adoring local press, but his inquisitor, Kyle Midura of Burlington TV station WCAX, had a rare opportunity to put him on the spot. Investigative reporters had been breaking stories about a federal investigation into allegations that the senator’s wife, Jane Sanders, had committed fraud in obtaining bank loans for the now defunct Burlington College, and that Sanders’s Senate office had weighed in.

Sanders had never responded to questions about the case, but he took the bait this time. Briefly.

“Well, as you know,” he said, “it would be improp— this implication came from Donald Trump’s campaign manager in Vermont. Let me leave it at that, because it would be improper at this point for me to say anything more.”

Bernie wants to do for the U.S. What his wife did for Burlington College, drive us into bankruptcy with pie-in-the-sky liberal spending.

I suspect Bernie is about to be exposed for his wealth coming from political donors. He is a hypocrite just like nearly every other senator and congressman in office. Do as I say not as I do.
