"Empowered by a president who has "taken the handcuffs off of law enforcement," the nation's chief immigration official revealed Tuesday that deportation targets have surged and that he's planning to deploy more agents and resources to "sanctuary cities" to arrest illegal criminals.

Thomas D. Homan, acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said in an interview that since Trump entered office, illegal border crossings have crashed by almost 70 percent, "an historic low," arrests inside the country have jumped 40 percent and that demands for illegal criminals in local jails has skyrocketed 80 percent.

"You can like President Trump, not like him, like his policies, not like his policies, but one thing no one can argue with is the effect they've had," said Homan, the former chief ICE enforcement boss and a 30-year immigration agency veteran.

    ****

The drop in illegal crossings has given ICE a chance to redirect resources to interior United States and immigrants locked up in jails, illegally working jobs and on the run.

A key target are the 300-plus sanctuary cities and counties that do not cooperate with ICE and ignore requests that they detail criminal illegals for ICE arrest and deportation proceedings....."

This system will be used to track not only foreigners but American citizens. If you don't want to be photographed by your own government when traveling internationally the DHS recommendation is "not to travel". Not sure how I feel about that. We are heading down the path where our government will be able to track it's own citizens at all times.

Not only can the government capture every electronic communication and keystroke (when and what), if you carry or are attached to a device with GPS such as your vehicle or cell phone, the government can know where you are/were (when and where). And while they may not legally access the information, it exists and there is no guarantee the law will stop them.

Read an article the other day about Amazon considering selling Alexa dialogue transcripts to third parties.

And most who own these laugh when warned the gov can/will tap into these devices and spy on you at home whenever they choose.

I already gave up believing anything I say or do is private. Even alone anything I say, type, or view is pre-screened mentally. I try to avoid certain words that might trigger any system of mass collection to single out and mark my behavior.

I honestly think the deep state is compiling all the viewing history and private behavior on our citizens for many control reasons. But one many might overlook is enhancing their ability to pick and choose preferable elected officials in the future.

Its only a matter of time before public perception turns toward supporting a European Union-ish General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation. For those that aren't familiar with it this is their right to be forgotten legislation that applies to companies, social media, etc. Essentially, you can tell Facebook, Google, an employer or other entity to delete/remove all data related to you.

The penalties for corporations that don't comply with this regulation is 4% of annual revenues. That's a death blow for most companies.

Driving down the road Thursday my wife and I were discussing framing in a mirror in our master bath. I said, look it up on pinterest. Her phone was dead so she picked up mine and I have the app but have not used it in a year or two and never on that phone. The first suggestion was a bikini clad hottie [bad PR on my part but the demographic is probly spot on] and the second was a perfect link to a framed in mirror in a bathroom. Freaky!

In your worldview, your wife could easily conclude from this that you are having an affair.

In Bubbas' defense, if he was having an affair he wouldn't be in the market for another hottie.

Okay so we just had this conversation about extreme Lib bias in polls.

The most recent poll articles are citing (as legit) is the WAPO/ABC News poll from July 13.

The first question asked about DT's job performance. 58% approve, 36% disapprove. So all the MSM articles are saying DT's approval is sliding further down the toilet.

So I went to the actual poll in search of sampling data. I scanned down to the final question which respondents were asked what they consider themselves...

    Democrat 35%
    Republican 23%
    Independents 35%

That's right. +12 f'n sample size in favor of Dems over Reps. Or more specifically, in a sample of 1,001 people, they questioned 350 Dems and 230 Reps.

And that garbage is supposed to contain accurately balanced views of the public?

Here's the link to the actual poll. Scroll down to the last question and click 'show results' and see the Dems +12 for yourself.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...7e024e4-69db-11e7-94ab-5b1f0ff459df_page.html

Countless articles bashing DT spun off from the results found in this 'baked sample' poll. These f'n people are sick, manipulative scumbags with no morals.

Per this Republicans were sampled correctly. Democrats were oversampled by ~5% and Independents were undersampled. There are statistical ways to account for this in the analysis/margin of error though I believe. At best, you're quibbling over a few %. For example, is DJT's approval rate 36% or 39%? Regardless, it's atrocious and the worst in 70 years.

I agree it is an atrocious approval rating and I'm not a DT fan even though I voted R. But I think this has to be put in the context of the media's propagandistic approach at large. This is one of many articles that lead with this info/detail. It matters because it is a steady drumbeat of skewed/biased info. While there may be an acceptable statistical sampling error and explanation of this poll, this is not a single incident. It is part of a much broader media bias pattern. While this poll could be off by +/- 3, it is the fact that the MSM posts 50 similar polls each week. So if you view it from that perspective, the poll may be a little biased but the selective and repeated presentation of such polls, amounts to a lot of bias from the folks that select which polls to publicize. They emphasize the stuff that fits their preferred narrative and de-emphasize other data and stories.

This is marketing (or anti-marketing) 101. Repeat the same message over and over and then it becomes the truth. It's not new and certainly politicians employ it on both sides, but it is my belief that the media should and hope that the media will actually live up to it and quit letting their personal bias come through their reporting so blatantly. Our media, who always crowns themselves with these 'defenders of the truth' personas need to live up to the "fourth pillar of democracy" that they crow about.

PPP did same thing today. Released a poll with DT losing to a slew of proposed Dem contenders and past figures.

    Obama 53 / DT 40
    HRC 47 / DT 42
    Biden 54 / DT 39
    Sanders 52 / DT 39
    Warren 49 / DT 42
    Booker 45 / DT 40
    Harris 41 / DT 40
    Zuckerberg 40 / DT 40

What was the sample difference of that poll? Dems +11.

These samples aren't slightly off. There's no way in hell Dems outnumber Reps by any more than +5. Even that is being very generous.

Now readjust the sample by 6 points to achieve a more realistic Dems +5 sample...

    Obama 47 / DT 46
    DT 48 / HRC 41
    Biden 48 / DT 45
    Sanders 46 / DT 45
    DT 48 / Warren 43
    DT 46 / Booker 39
    DT 46 / Harris 35
    DT 46 / Zuckerberg 34

The article citing the poll was showing how Harris would beat DT by a point.

When the reality is in a fair sampling group, he'd destroy her and all other new POTUS contenders in a landslide.

The point is if they're oversampling by at a minimum +6, which if readjusted more accurately would lead to a huge 12 point swing in DT's favor.

The adjustment would add 6 from one side and deduct 6 from the other.

So they write an article how Harris would win by a point when a fair sample would have her losing by 11 points. Yeah, that's not fake news.

My research says the difference is closer to Dems +3 (8 points off), which would leave only Biden beating DT, and by a single point.

Have you EVER seen a poll that oversampled R's?

Never. And it's not far fetched considering how much gov Reps control on all levels.

Based on data, Reps tie or lead in Gallup's monthly party affiliation polls now and then. As a matter of fact in 3 of 8 Gallup polls since the election they've done that.

On May 3-7, 2017, Gallup results were 29% Reps, 28% Dems
On Feb 1-5, 2017, Gallup had them even at 31%
On Jan 4-8, 2017, Gallup results were 28% Rep, 25% Dems

In the eight Gallup polls since the election, the Dems biggest margin was +4. Which proves sampling Dems with a double-digit advantage is complete bs.

Americans have never felt better, 74% very happy

A new Rasmussen Reports survey said that 74% of adults rate the life as good or excellent, the highest level of satisfaction ever recorded by the pollster.

That's is up from 61% in 2010 and 67% in 2014. And just 5% rate their life as poor.

Dems have a 7 point registered voter lead per the post above. What research do you have that shows only a 3pt difference in registered voters?

It's the Independents that always get undersampled in these polls. Why? They don't care enough about politics to participate in political polls.

Stock markets are helped by the promise of tax relief and no pesky environmental hurdles. The flipside to the great market returns is that the US Dollar hit an 11 month low this week. In fact, it's been in sharp decline since January. What happened in January?

The sheep are just waiting for the 2018 races to take shape. That's when their cult leaders and the MSM will instruct them what race should appall them.

Then streams of donors and Hollywood funds will follow like good sheep. We all know they need orders and appalling targets from the puppet masters first. :lmao:

Trump is 0 fer 10 in his legislative priorities that he pledged during the campaign.

He's now heading past the 6-month mark. Congress can no longer pull back any of Obama's last moment regulation changes. Trump and the R's are on their own now.
