What political office does Phelps hold? His writing sounds like something straight out of both the Democrat & Republican parties. "We have everything right, they have everything wrong. Why would anyone want to vote for them when we are so perfect?"

Dumbass, if you couldn't do better than the second half of your division when your biggest rival is being run by Charlie Strong with Patterson & Powers in control, then YOU need to look at YOUR PRODUCT! Might just be that you don't have the panacea you think you do; however, if that has been the scenario for over a hundred years, you might be a little bit delusional. :deadhorse:

This is Green's trainer -- not 100% that he means Green will announce today, but possible

So who do y'all think the rumored commit from Houston will be per the aggy source quoted above (doesn't seem like he's trolling)? This may sound dumb but while I'm pretty sure Mustapha (from nearby Houston) committed last night I can't tell if the news above means that he just decided to visit, though he's a good bet even if it's the latter. But this news came after the aggy post so I doubt he's the one it was in reference to.

The main targets from Houston showing medium to high interest per 247 are (state rank in parentheses) Green (5), Eagles (4), Coburn (13), Epps (23), Cook (1), Jamison (16), and close by is Ossai (28). And of course Mustapha (14). I may have missed some so feel free to add on. Seven four stars and one five star. For a little perspective, our highest rated commit from Texas last year was Sam at 20. Let's literally set up a shop in htown.

I don't remember who's announced a commitment date or of course when it'll be, so someone help me out if one of the above will be waiting til later. But I'm thinking it's at least one of Eagles, Jamison, Green or Coburn plus Mustapha by Monday. My money is on Eagles, but really can't go wrong.

Impressive list, but would love to see Jaylen Waddle from Episcopal HS in Houston, amazing body control, speed and stays cool under pressure.

With Green, we move two spots to No. 4 in the 247 team rankings, moving past LSU and Tennessee and just 20 points shy of No. 3

Texas now has 13 commitments -- one five-star prospect, nine four-stars and three three-stars. And an average ranking of over 93, which is top two behind only tOSU

    Anyone disagree?
I feel like I been saying pretty much the same thing for decades. We have not had a head coach in recent memory take full and complete advantage of all the competitive edges UT and this state offer

    From TFBs --

"– UPDATE (Sat. 10:30 AM): As everyone saw last night Texas landed two commits in 2018 CB Jalen Green and 2019 QB Roschon Johnson. Here are some other quick notes from the camp.

I heard things went very well with LB DaShaun White. He tested very well and more importantly IMO he measured in around 6’2 220. He played around 205 last season and that was a small concern for some. He can really run, and told me he plans to talk to the staff today about a possible offer and thinks it’s coming. If Texas wants to take a 2nd LB along with Byron Hobbs and possibly DeMarvion Overshown down the line, White is a no-brainer offer IMO. A true Big 12 LB, and I think Texas would jump Texas A&M and Oklahoma if they offer.

Coppell (TX) ’19 CB Jonathan McGill had a great camp. He’s only around 5’9 but has been really impressing people this summer. He holds and early Stanford offer and could be a guy Texas targets at nickel in 2019."

Higdon says we did not offer White this weekend. Orlando told him we wait for tape of his first couple games

D’shawn Jamison is highschool teammates with Woodard and Cook

"If five-star Houston Lamar product Anthony Cook is the top-ranked cornerback in Texas, his counterpart D’shawn Jamison isn’t far behind.

A four-star prospect, Jamison is a walking embodiment of the adage, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.” At 5’10, 174 pounds, what Jamison lacks in size, he accounts for courtesy of ideal measurable and a relentless on-field persona.

A versatile, multi-positional talent, Jamison saw extended reps at cornerback, nickel back, safety and even as a linebacker during his junior campaign. In coverage, Jamison is exceptionally physical and utilizes tremendous footwork, hip movement and lateral agility to consistently remain in position to make plays, evident in his sub-4.5 40-yard- dash and blistering 3.90 20-yard shuttle. When matched up against taller receivers, which will become commonplace at the next level, Jamison’s 38-inch vertical leap allows him to still contest the ball at its highest point. More so, he’s an instinctual player that has a knack for getting his hands getting his hands in position to deflect passes and knows when to break on a route and close out.

A surprisingly explosive striker when attacking the ball carrier, Jamison doesn’t hit like your typical undersized prospect and he plays with a relentless edge when in pursuit. Such traits are complimented by an explosive burst, impressive closing speed and a high football IQ, as he understands which angles to take. All of which have allowed Jamison to thrive as an edge rusher in blitz situations as a hard-nosed, reliable tackler that consistently makes plays in the backfield....."

Coaches are doing a great job with recruiting, but where are the linemen? Only one uncommitted OL in the weekend visit list.

As I recall, Jimmy Johnson listed his draft priorities: QB, CB and linemen. Doing fine, even great with one and two, but not so well with three. We need about six guys. Any thoughts on what's up?
