I wish TS all the luck in the world. Great kid. If his NFL dream comes true it will be well deserved and a great story.

That would be so great if he makes that team.

The big thing for him isn't necessarily whether he makes the team at Seattle. Pretty good chance he won't. But he's proving that he can compete and perform at an NFL level - there's plenty of demand for a long athletic TE, and if he doesn't latch on at Seattle, he's going to get a chance somewhere else.

Looks like he's really making the most of the opportunity!

I'll bet he makes the team. Great attitude. I've seen him running loose in secondaries and he's hell on defensive backs trying to tackle him.

Just making a practice squad with a team would be huge for Ty. It's his first time at the position. If he can spend a season with an NFL team learning the finer aspects of the position and staying in football shape, he will position himself to make a roster next season.

Good luck Ty. Longhorn nation supports you :hookem:

His issue will be blocking schemes and withstanding the onslaught of freak defensive ends. But he's got plenty of skill for a team to train him.

Tyrone has freaky gifts, too, one being leg strength. He won't be easy for a DE to bull rush.

The guy is a physical beast. Hell put him on special teams to just hit people while working on his receiving skillz.

He caught a shovel pass and gained 22 yards last night.

Swoopes is still a longshot to make the team but has clearly surpassed all expectations. He had 2 key catches last night, albeit the unplanned shovel pass was after he whiffed on a block. I hope he continues his current trajectory and the Seahawks successfully stash him on the practice squad for the season. Seattle has only 1 TE signed past this season: Ohio St. alum Nick Vannett who is entering his second season.

Seattle typically gives UFA more of a chance to make the roster than most organizations. Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse and Thomas Rawls can attest to that. At a minimum, he's showing the NFL he can play thus even if Seattle's relatively deep roster is too difficult to break through he's putting other organizations on notice.

TS must have survived the first cut. He had 4 catches and 31 yards on the last preseason game. He had the most catches out of all the receivers.

Here's hoping he survives the final roster cut to 53.

I think the NFL only has one cut now and I think it's Saturday. Straight to 53 and a 10 man practice squad. Used to cut to 90, then 75, then 53.

A local beat writer stated the Hawks have big plans for Swoopes and were hoping he'd make it through waivers to get signed to their practice squad. Only 1 of 3 TE's are signed past this season for Seattle.

Of course, anyone can sign anyone off your practice squad if they add them to the active roster.
