The Lufkin, Texas Little League team (representing the Southwest) is 2-0, and in the winners' bracket of the LLWS. If they beat North Carolina next, or even lose that game and beat the winner of Illinois and Connecticut, they go to the finals of the USA bracket.
Didn't they almost runrule Connecticut last night? Was at a bar, sound off, but looked like they were up by 10 runs with 1 more out to go in bottom of 4th; Connecticut scored a run cutting into the 10-run margin?
Lufkin did end up winning by 10-run rule; 14 to 4 partway through the bottom of the 5th. The good thing is that it's winner take all against NC even though Texas has a loss and NC doesn't. (2-1 NC over Texas in extra innings earlier this week)
