I don’t know what to expect from our team but a win at USC would surely (mostly) erase the stink of the Maryland game, and could be a defining moment for Herman and the program. Hook ’em!
My 2 cents: 1. If a 21+ point loss, questions, questions... 2. If a reasonably close or close loss, say less than 21 point loss, no shame, a really good USC team, in LA. As long as it's not due to stupid mental, poor coaching mistakes, detailed ad nauseum in other threads following Maryland 3. A win of any margin, 1 point to 50+, a good sign that TH has made internal (not public, not loud) changes after Maryland. I'm betting on 3. for the win.
With a win, I can easily erase it...far more easily than what the University of Spoiled Children has tried to do with our Rose Bowl win . Not at all difficult for me to be all "Maryland? What Maryland game?"
Just like the weeks leading up to the 2006 Rose Bowl NC game... no one in the sports media / sports world thinks UT has a / chance to win this Sat. If UT / Herman can pull off a win, it will be an epic upset and surely set the stage for his coaching era. Hook 'Em!
Back then we all knew we would win because that team was special. I don't think we know much about this team, but we sure will by 10pm tomorrow night.
I am leaving for LA early tomorrow a.m. and am cautiously optimistic. I don't know why. PS we lost to Kansas last year.
It means that come Hell or high water, when the chips are down and the Good Lord is watching, we're Texans by damned, and just like in 1836, that counts for something. So for today at least, when your chance comes around, go out and prove it. It's true because we believe it's true. If you are sitting wondering what the Hell I'm talking about, this ain't for you. Let's go own USC again.
