Texas-USC had more fans present than the Chargers and Rams games did - combined.

Even my wife committed on the Rams attendance. However, remember that it was Texas that filled the stadium. Wonder how many SC fans will show up in Austin next September? That game needs to be played at 2:30, but will probably be the 7:30 game.

True story - I once took a UCLA girl to a Grateful Dead Show (Vegas) and I will never forget her saying bye to her friend on the phone with, "Look for me, I'm wearing a tie dye shirt."

Even though we've been down for too many years now, we've still got the magic mojo that fans want to see. Teams like A&M don't have it and probably never will have.

Just seeing USC and Texas or Notre Dame and Texas line up against each other is exciting. It doesn't matter what the records are.

Somebody posted a picture of the menu saying the chargers sell beer for 13.50

If they'd had 30,000 Texas fans show up, both of those games would have been sellouts and the LA press would be talking about how pro football in the city has been revitalized.

Bud Adams recognized that SoCal was never going to be a great market for the NFL, which is why he shunned their much more lucrative offer and moved to Nashville. That was 25 years ago.

Well, draught beer in the Champions Club is $10 this year. $8 and $9 for a can in the stadium and Corral Club. I would be curious what drinks are going for in Touchdown Club, Texas Club, etc.

Here's a link to a website that contains the gazillion-pixel panoramic shot of the stadium that night (among other similar gazillion-pixel shots) so that you can really point yourself out:

(I'm the guy with glasses and my arms across my chest, burnt orange shirt with Texas in white, three rows from the top, midway between the Section 17 and Section 18 entryways.)

It's no wonder they won; they had us surrounded.

I saw USC play in Norman in the 70's, 80's and 90's. They usually brought about 1,500 - 2,000 people, 4 Song Girls and only brought a pep band one time. They didn't bring much more than that to the 1995 Cotton Bowl when they played Tech (Ags were on probation).

If I had a nickel every time I heard someone say "meet me/us by Big Tex" on the day of the Texas/OU game, I'd be able to retire.

That's freaking awesome. I remember them talking about this at the game. I'm just glad I wasn't flipping the bird when they took this. I love looking at the shirts.... My favorite, "Vince Youngs knee was down"
