Except for 15 September 2018. That one needs to the 2:30 game - the hotter the better. (I realize it will be the evening game, but seeing those SC linemen melt in the September sun would be entertaining.)
This. Would love to pull off these next two and go into OU 2-0 in conference. I would love to take those ******* on with some swagger in our step, instead of the cornered dog we've been the last 3 years.
Which probably means 2 games with ou. Winning both might be a stretch, but the goal is a Big XII Championship so winning the second game would be a must. Hopefully this Championship game will die a very quick death.
It will take OU actually losing a rematch for them to understand how dumb it is as they apparently lack foresight.
depth chart JP Urquidez now backup RT to Derek Kerstetter LT is now Tristan Nickelson OR Denzel Okafor. On the Big 12 conf call, Herman said of Okafor, "We've got to get that kid better."
LT Connor Williams with go with a non-surgical treatment of MCL. Will be evaluated in 2-3 weeks. Goal for Williams is back on the field before the end of the year.
Desperately. He supposedly had more upside than any of the linemen in that draft, and right now he doesn't look nimble enough to block anyone with any kind of speed. Makes me wonder if he should be at guard? Yeah, funny how it works when guys get to settle into the same defense and start learning how to play with the guy next to them. Keep everybody healthy and they'll keep getting better!
TH needs to also make this kid (Kerstetter) better - he was a missing blocks and penalty machine Thursday night!!!
It was also his first game as a true freshman. The fact that he started speaks volumes about not only his raw ability but the complete lack of development of the sophomores and juniors on our O-line roster.
Only if the carries are taken away from Porter. If the carries are taken away from Warren and Porter still gets 17 carries I'm going to be livid.
I don't think that's been our problem. We've basically played OU as equals or better for the past 4 years and split the games 2/2. If we had played that well against every opponent, Mack wouldn't have been fired, and even if he had; Charlie would have come in and had 3 straight winning seasons.
Yeah he got on Hughes on that play looks like his assignment was to contain on the outside and force the run back in, and instead he took an inside rush and let the guy go clean. That happened a couple of times early (or at least they got outside a couple of times early.)
Not to be too dramatic but this K-State game will basically tell us if this team has any realistic shot at a bowl. Lose at home to K-State and hopes for road upsets over TCU and WVU or home upset of Okie State fade and this could end up a 4 win team, win and suddenly 7-8 wins is on table and chance for something special for Herman's first year. Texas must win this game, there is just no simpler way of saying it, if a season can ride on just the fifth game of the year, this season does.
