The college football world is changing, rapidly. Lousy hires are more evident. Steve Patterson comes to mind. The aggy and Nebraska have spent millions to run off coaches and AD's since the Big 12 was formed. Hell, Frank Solich had been in Lincoln longer than Castro had been in Havana and they fired him for winning 9 games and a bowl. Now they have another lame duck coach and NO AD. WTF?

Which, slowly, brings me to my point. Did anyone ever picture a day where Nebraska would be a 25 POINT UNDER DOG......AT HOME? To an Ohio State team that couldn't get first downs against a defense that has been torched by bailor and Iowa State the last two weeks.

To be sure, we have problems. But when the xxxx storms that are going on in Lincoln, Baton Rouge and Hooterville are part of the landscape, I do feel better about our mess.

    OU Sucks.

    That is all.

If you at the four teams that left the B12, things have not gone well for them. The grass was definitely not greener.

Of those four, Nebraska has fared the worst, losing their recruiting base, their perceived rivals, and perhaps their identity. They have the greatest fans I've ever encountered, and they deserve better.

Missouri is giving them a run for their money.

Nebraska has basically dropped off the college football map as far as I can tell. Who even has expectations for them any more?

I recently asked a co-worker that is a long time Husker fan what he thought of the bug eaters moving to the Big10. He said he was never in favor of leaving B12 and it has been a " disaster" since they left.

    Thought that was very interesting.

Did he say it was all Texas's fault? Seems to be the titty baby excuse from all the schools that run off.

While Colorado can not be considered in Nebraska's class in the college football pecking order, they were a viable program capable of making some noise. No more. Same could be said for Mizzou. That's three of the teams who bailed from the B12. Can't for the life of me remember who the fourth one was.

He didn't say that but I know a lot of NU fans think that...

This is why when I still hear people talk about what a great fan base they have, I think yes, when they were successful.

I know this is probably a pipe dream but considering just how badly it has gone for NU, I wonder if they could be enticed to come back to the Big 12.

Then we could ditch Baylor. It would be a huge net positive replacing Baylor with NU.

Only works if the bight lights in Las Colinas drop the stupid championship game. Otherwise need a net two additions.

    Same here.
Colorado seems like a better fit for the Pac Whatever, and Aggie is a perfect red-headed step-child fit for the So Everyone Cheats league.

Ditch Baylor, bring back Mizzou and NU, and bring in someone like BYU. That would be a league to stick around for.

No one on this board has been more critical of Baylor than I have. No one on this board has been more outspoken to Baylor supporters and Baylor board members than have I. That said, I don't mind kicking them out, but I can NEVER support kicking out a Christian based university, regardless of their lack of control, and replacing them with BYU.

Past time to start strategizing for the next big shake-up that will end up with the Power 5 becoming the 4 Super Conferences with 16 teams each. The $EC and the PAC-12 will survive and add 2 and 4 teams respectively based purely on geography. That leaves the ACC, B1G, the Big XII and Notre Dame to cobble together two 16 team Conferences.

The cost to get out of the B1G probably rules out any moves now by Nebraska and Mizzou. So does the BIG XII add two perceived weaker schools (Houston and SMU/Air Force types) just to get to 12 or has Texas (probably to the B1G with Kansas) and ou (would be right at home in the $EC with OSU) already decided to free lance into the Super Conference they each feel comfortable with? Also, after Texas and ou/OSU moves TCU and WVa probably to the ACC with Tech to the PAC-12 (provided PAC-12 Commissioner Mike Leach approves). Kansas St., Iowa State and Baylor?
