It would appear that Susan Rice lied, again What was she thinking on this? That it would never actually get out?
Based on what we know, Manafort deserved to be tapped. He was dirty. Between he and Flynn, one if not both will be indited. Trey Gowdy said Susan Rice did "a good job" in her testimony and that her answers were consistent with the facts so far in that she unmasked Trump associates to determine why the UAE made an unannounced visit to the US to meet him before he took office.
But Gowdy didn't say that her actions were legal or her description of the actions accurate. I don't believe any "facts" were presented. Just positions.
Kind of surprising CNN paid attention to this The FBI posted a document Monday that suggests former FBI Director James Comey began drafting what became his infamous July 2016 statement about Hillary Clinton's private server months ahead of time, releasing a heavily redacted copy of the exchange. http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/16/politics/comey-draft-clinton-statement/index.html
You may wish to know Muellar a little bit better. https://www.newsbud.com/2017/10/24/...pecial-council-muellers-conflict-of-interest/
Mueller has got some charges out of the grand jury Someone will probably be in custody by Monday The charges are sealed for now
It might be sealed because the indictment contains classified material If it is Manafort, my guess is some type of financial crime. Hopefully, this does not turn into Mueller trying to Scooter Libby someone just before he has to recuse himself.
With all the news of corruption about the DNC, DWS, Hillary, Obama and all the ties to Russia and on and on they are ready to try to make some news of an arrest to distract. The timing is predictable.
I would. While I agree an arrest is a big deal, the timing of the news is absolutely planned to distract from the ugliness (not physical this time) engulfing HRC.
That’s exactly what I was saying. My point wasn’t about the arrest. Deez missed my point that it’s the timing that’s so predictable when all the news about the Uranium sale, bribes, kick backs and once again the Clinton foundation always in the middle of the big scandals. Can anyone here tell me why the Obama Administration even had a gag order on the informant the last 5 years? What possible reason would he not want the informant to speak to congress? The Democrats are 1,000 time worse than the mafia. The Dems do everything and much more than the mafia, but feel they can’t be touched because they are above the law. Very dangerous.
They may have a hard time finding willing agents to raid John Podesta's house at 5am. No telling what kind of creephy sh*t would be going on in there.
Grand jury stuff is not supposed to leak -- for good reason. But some is, of course, leaking out anyway. I dont really like it but leaks now seem to be part of our daily lives. OK, so, the purported leaks I have read say that GJ witnesses are being peppered about the Podestas relationship with Paul Manafort going back to at least 2011. They are saying the questioning indicated a focus on two potential criminal activities. First is a violation of FARA (Foreign Agents Registration Act) with regard to something called the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU). Second is access to the State Department in the Uranium One deal. If this is true, then Mueller is flying very close to conflict of interest issues (from his former role as head of the FBI). Again, if true, then the rules say Mueller is headed for a likely recusal. I dont see it as even a close call. As I wrote above, this investigation might not be going down the road Democrats have been long assuming. If Manafort is the subject of the Friday indictment, as rumored, and he enters a plea agreement with Muller in exchange for testimony, this has the look of blowing up in Democrats faces.
CNN is reporting that Manafort and his longtime business associate (Gates) will be arrested today by Mueller.
Looks like Mueller is trying to do a Scooter Libby on Flynn Sidenote - NEVER speak to the FBI without your atty present. Or, maybe better, just never talk to them at all I did not do crim law but my sense on this is that if Mueller had "flipped" Flynn, as we have seen suggested, he would be making this plea later, not now. If he wanted Flynn to testify about someone else in a subsequent trial, then this plea would be hurting the credibility of his own witness. So, the timing here, to me at least, suggests no flip. Instead, what it might be is some attempt by Flynn to bargain for his son, who has also been in Mueller's sights (supposedly). I have personally witnessed AUSAs go after family members in this fashion, to get to who they think is the bigger fish.
