But what do they mean by "Principled Conservatism?" 1. Open borders 2. Pointless never-ending wars 3. Outsourcing jobs 4. Amnesty 5. More entitlements 6. Accepting the left's framing of every issue Moreover, if the Trump/Bannon brand of republicanism is so toxic, then how did Trump outperform Mitt Romney and John McCain so much? Even among minorities? Which Midwest states would Rubio or Bush have carried in 2016? The answer is none. This inability of this group to admit they were wrong and then move on is ignorant and pathetic
John McCain is a liberal period. I don't even want to call him a RINO. He deserves to have the word Liberal behind his name. Great War hero and can't say much about the rest of his career after that.
Trump's greatest accomplishment will come in 2018 when the establishment "republicans" are swept out of office.
Two articles on the Trump Effect on Federal Courts -- Donald Trump Is Rapidly Reshaping the Nation’s Courts It may be the most radical transformation in a generation. So how come nobody is reporting on it? https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/08/donald-trump-is-rapidly-reshaping-the-nations-courts Trump is quietly moving at a furious pace to secure 'the single most important legacy' of his administration https://www.businessinsider.com.au/trump-judges-attorneys-nominations-2017-7?r=US&IR=T
I love how the left is lining up to praise conservatives now, when they fit an agenda. As I understand Bush's speech, it wasn't specific to Trump, but rather a condemnation of a climate that's in place on both sides. But progressives hear "intolerance" and "bullying" and immediately think, "THAT'S TRUMP!!!" and ONLY Trump. NOT US! WE'RE GREAT. NOW SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO US."
"The poll found that 56% of Republicans say McConnell should resign as majority leader." http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/356797-poll-gop-voters-want-mcconnell-to-step-down
I agree, but what annoys about W right now is the he steadfastly refused to make any speeches remotely close to this while Obama was in office but he's doing it now. I wish he would just continue to stay silent.
The liberal transformation is pretty amusing. They used to call him imbecile, Chimp, coke head, liar, Nazi, Moron-in-Chief, dictator, racist, shrub, Satan's Monkey, clown, Rain Man, cowboy, Bushit, bigot, Darth Moron and of course Hitler. What changed? Do they ever mean anything they say? How can anyone tell?
"Good Times Come to Trump-Leaning States" Places that favored Clinton have had rising unemployment. Some red states have reached record-low levels. One of the biggest visible impacts after last November's presidential election was a surge in economic confidence among Republicans, and somewhat less of a drop among Democrats. Perhaps not surprising given how much we all view the world through partisan-tinted glasses. But it raised a larger question: In the months following the election, would the "hard" economic data confirm what these "soft" measures of sentiment and confidence were showing? Nearly a year after the election, the answer appears to be yes. The really interesting numbers come from state employment data. The two states with the biggest drops in their unemployment rates since November are Alabama, whose unemployment rate has fallen to 3.8 percent from 6.2 percent , and Tennessee, whose rate has fallen to 3.0 percent from 5.1 percent. Trump won those states by 27.7 percent and 26.0 percent, respectively. Other Trump-leaning states like Tennessee and Idaho are now at record-low levels of unemployment. By comparison, places with a strong Clinton lean have not seen a similar improvement. The unemployment rate in Washington, DC, has increased to 6.5 percent from 5.8 percent. Massachusetts's has increased to 3.9 percent from 3.1 percent, New York's rate is unchanged from 4.9 percent, and California's has fallen just 0.2 percentage points, to 5.1 percent from 5.3 percent. Seven of the 10 most Trump-leaning states have seen their unemployment rates fall by more than the national average. Only three of the 10 most Clinton-leaning states can report the same, including none of the top seven. Outside of New Mexico, Trump-friendly Ohio now has the highest unemployment rate in the continental U.S. ....." https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-10-24/good-times-come-to-trump-leaning-states
If Milo came out tomorrow bashing Trump with a vengeance he would be guest appearing on every MSM show around. Hell Alex Jones could flip and unveil a crazy Wikileaks conspiracy about Trump collusion and score major MSM airtime. It's nuts out there in Lib land.
Goes to show you the obvious philosophy of how economics work for the better or the worse at the State level. I'm so happy our country is going back in the right direction economically speaking. Not sure we could have handled 4 years of Hillary, preceded by 8 years of Obama, the last two years of Bush, and our horrible Congress we've had since 2006. The Swamp was desperately needing to be drained. Still a lot of draining needs to happen though.
There are a lot of signs showing the US econ is getting ready to rev up. But we do need this tax reform to go through. If it fails or turns about to be more "meh" than actual substance, it could stall everything and maybe send stocks in steep reversal.
So, are the Trump supporters disappointed that he redacted and withheld some of the information? Inquiring minds want to know how deep his support goes.
I wasn't a Cruz supporter, but I did feel sorry for the guy. He got the, "your wife is ugly, and your dad is a murderer" treatment and was then expected to just let it go. Not sure I could have done that.
For the record, since LBJ, the Dems have already spent $22 TRILLION on welfare ...... without reducing poverty by 1%. Yet that never stops them from making claims like this
