Apples don't fall far the tree in most cases. It would not be hard to theorize that since this father is acting like this in the public realm of social media, perhaps his son cannot show restraint and has been critical of the coaches in a divisive way. If so, I would sit his ***, too. Playing him sets no example to the rest of the team of what is acceptable.

Yea, puking ones grievances and disputes with another is always best done on social media.

Ya know, to keep it real.

You and I essentially posted this same thought at the same time. I agree. Not the way to go about it.

That was unnecessary. Unless you know that kid personally don’t “theorize” his character especially from something his dad placed on social media.

Mr. Foreman is going to challenge Lavar Ball for the Dumbass Dad of the Year award.

This is a message board that deals in theories all the time. I did not impugn Foreman's character. I offered a theory of why TH may have him on the bench. Sorry if that offends you.

You just implied the kid has zero restraint because of his fathers tweet your words not mine so yeah bud that’s judgment on his character. Would you want others to hold your children accountable for something you did?

Take my comment however you want. It does make it true. I did not, I will say again, impugn his character. Offering a theory of what MAY be going on behind the scenes is not an attack on Foreman. I did not imply any such thing about Foreman's restraint or lack thereof. I said, "If so,...".

We will never know, but if Herman IS holding Foreman accountable for his father's questionable rantings on social media, fine. Yes, if I was doing something like this, ranting in public like a petulant child, I would expect my child's school, friends, associates, employer, whomever, to want to distance themselves from her.

Sure bud next time try “ my sources tell me “ that seems the be the nicer way to say things that shouldn’t be said.

If you can produce posts of mine in the last 10+ years I have been around here where I say absolutes about any player, please do. Not sure what else I can say to explain that I was not saying anything bad about Foreman. I am not sure why you seem so hurt personally by my comment above offering a theory of what might be going on to explain his lack of playing time when it seems otherwise he is a good contributor. There you have it, bud.

Foreman's father doesn't seem like he's thought too far ahead on this.

    He's put TH in a no-win situation.

    1. Play his son and looks like TH is capitulating to an interfering parent.

    2. Don't play his son and looks like TH is refusing to play him because of the interfering parent.

The father has every opportunity to make a telephone call, write a personal letter to TH, maybe even pay a personal visit (by appointment) with TH or his assistant regarding this.

TH seems like the kind of guy that might try to take the time out his otherwise busy schedule to accommodate any/all of this. Maybe that's already happened without satisfying the father. Who knows?

But going public via social media like has been done takes one back to 1. or 2. above.

If TH plays the son now, might open the floodgates for future parents to refer back to this situation and start a pattern of micromanagement of the team by parents from afar.

If TH doesn't play him, it may bruise some current relationships with that family and friends and close teammates of the player, but should be only a short-term negative.

Would future recruits think that Saban or Meyer or Franklin or the like would bow to complaining parents?

I consciously said having a chip about being real; not that being real implies a chip. I've seen his type before; unfiltered, insisting on no regrets, loudly telling everyone he doesn't care what they think, inerrant, aggression like he was in all caps about it etc... I've been around mature honest people who speak in ways that offer calm constructive criticism. Mr. Foreman is not one of those people. It's as if he is proud of his provative manner; as if that is the end and the means in itself. Hence my view that he has a chip.

It goes back to what Mack Brown used to say..."I've got 100 plus players with parents who want more playing time"

I feel for TH, this really is a no win situation. He should say nothing publicly about the Armanti Foreman situation. Anything he says will be used against him. DF is just waiting to drop more bombshells. I've been in situations like this. TH has got to stay silent.

I’m tired of repeating this here. Keep the politics on the West Mall. Not on the sports forums.

It’s in the Posting Guidelines, there’s a link at the bottom of the page. Read it.

Exactly. DF is trying to force a public response or force the media to bring it up in the public sphere. And for that DF can go F himself. Hes actively trying to undermine the program from afar.

Telling the world that "so-and-so won't talk to me because I'm too real for him" is really a fantastic way to open a dialog. If I got that message, I would be so excited about sitting down with him to hash things out in a calm, reasonable fashion, knowing we'd be able to come to an agreement.
