What if it was not the Russians?

A GOP presidential candidate paid a DC law firm to work up a dossier as opposition research. Once Trump got the nomination the Clinton campaign started paying that DC law firm? The principal is a British guy who had experience in Russia. How is that "paying the Russians?".

Carter's felonies will likely be when it turns up he lied under oath.

I dont know about more. Sometimes indictments are altered.

If Manafort/Gates go down on FARA, then this was truly an exercise in the SP's ego, because half the lobbyists on K Street could probably qualify for that. Maybe more than half.

Also, from my understanding the Clinton campaign never really used the dossier. I mean many people from both parties turned it over to law enforcement as it appeared to highlight troubling things but, other than speaking about "ties to Russia", they didn't use it to attack Trump from my recollection. I'd read that recently as well but I'm not sure where. So, you know, it could be quasi fake news.

The previous and current administrations both paid Steele to continue his work.

I cannot tell you how much I love having you here as the self-appointed representative of the Democrats. I love it because you always get the facts wrong. Thus fitting the stereotype that you guys not only dont know facts but you dont care about them either. It's always amusing when you are forced into attempting to allege a fact.

OK, so, you allege here a GOP candidate paid GPS Fusion. Who?

Whatever Paul Singer/the Beacon paid for was not the "Steele Dossier." Steele did no work for them. His work didnt begin until Dem money came in. Singer was out of it by then as Trump had the nomination wrapped up. This has been pointed out to you multiple times in the past, with links.

This part has already been admitted/confirmed. DNC/HRC/Obama money to Perkins Coie in April 2016. Perkins Coie gave some of that money to GPSF (same month), who then gave some of that money to Steele, who then gave some of that money to Russians. It's a straight line. I guess youve never heard the expression -- follow the money?

If so, thats a process crime, like Scooter Libby, like I wrote above.
Like Libby, if he gets nicked, he wont be getting caught on what the SP was actually tasked to investigate.
The general rule is "Never talk to the FBI without an attorney." Never. No matter the circumstances.

The thing you miss about "collusion," the thing you have always been missing, is that it is not a crime. There needs to be collusion to do something, to do some crime, to commit a felony. If it's criminal conspiracy you allege, then you need an act in furtherance. Using Trump. Jr as an example, him wishing the Russian attorney had actual evidence that HRC committed a crime, as she alleged, is not a crime. It's not even collusion. If the Russian woman had that proof and gave it to Trump, jr., it would raise an interesting question. But I am not sure, even in that hypothetical scenario, it would even be a crime. But doesnt matter here as none of that happened.

We need a buzzer for your factual allegations.
That "dossier" was passed all over DC, to all media. The problem was not that Clinton didnt seek to use it, the problem was none would bite. Not even the Trump haters. Why? The could instantly tell it was bogus.
Only idiots like Buzzfed and John McCain managed to get suckered in.

My memory is that the FBI under Comey and still under Obama made the offer. I am not sure if the FBI admitted that it actually did pay them anything. And I think all that was over before the transition. Do you have facts to prove your claim the Trump Admin paid Steele? Or is another buzzer?

LOL. Really? The "they never used it" defense?
That's pretty close to the "they never meant for anyone to get hurt" defense.
    Good luck with that

You are correct. I read that wrong in your link. It said after the election.

    So, buzzer.

Just let them do their work. You know that the Roger Stone's of the world are 16 penny tight down there about now.

The Clinton Swamp just keeps getting deeper.

First, the DNC/HRC said they knew nothing. But 2 weeks ago, they were forced to publicly concede they did hire Fusion GPS to engage in political activity against then candidate Trump.

Next, it came out that Glenn Simpson, owner of GPS Fusion and by then employed as an agent of the DNC/HRC, met with Russian attorney Veselnitskaya immediately prior to her visit to Trump Tower and immediately after.

    What now?
Now we learn that Simpson wrote the material Veselnitskava used to pitch herself into a meeting with Don Trump Jr. She took Simpson's memo into the meeting with here.

Everyone in the Clinton orbit is dirty

The person who replaced Tony Podesta at the Podesta Group has already quit. LOL

Kimberley Fritts, a "longtime Democratic lobbyist" at The Podesta Group, quit the firm roughly one week after replacing Tony Podesta as CEO. Fritts had been expected to relaunch the Podesta Group under a new name. The resignation by Podesta came on the same morning Paul Manafort surrendered himself to the feds.

I'd be curious to know how many Clinton memes/links that were shared in this forum by a few actually originated under the umbrella of the Kremlin. Hell, their black lives matter twitter presence had more likes that the real one.

The original thread title here is "What if it was not the Russians." Here, the uber-liberal media org "The Nation" writes that, indeed, it was not the Russians. They bravely suggest to their fellow 'progressives' that the data does not lie.

How rare is it that we see actual journalism any more? It takes real courage for any leftist media group to publish actual evidence in this age. Bravo to them. They make a compelling argument.

Inheritances from Cameron’s and Rice’s families, as well as her own investments, are chiefly responsible for her $20 million-plus net worth, which has drawn attention this week because she holds stocks in Canadian oil companies that could benefit from construction of the Keystone Pipeline, a project that she might have some influence over if she were named secretary of state.

One could argue that having a significant inheritance frees one up to serve their country without worrying about silly things like car payments and who's paying the mortgage.

It is beginning to come out that GPS Fusion was indeed paying the media to plant stories. Newly filed court documents confirm payments made to at least three journalists between June 2016 until February 2017. But names redacted so far --

The three journalists who were paid by Fusion GPS are known to have reported on "Russia issues relevant to [the committee's] investigation," the House Intelligence Committee said in a court filing.
